This card was released in the Plasma Storm expansion with artwork by 5ban Graphics, first originating from the Japanese Plasma Gale expansion. A Cracked Ice Holofoil version was included in the Plasma Shadow Theme Deck. It was later reprinted as a Full Art card with new artwork by the same artist as one of the BW Black Star Promos, originating from the Japanese Team Plasma Battle Gift Set. The English promotional print was released in the Team Plasma Box on May 29, 2013.

This card features Giratina in its Altered Forme. Hex and Shadow Claw are both moves in the Pokémon games that Giratina can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
