Egg event

Egg events (Japanese: タマゴイベント Egg Event) are limited-time events in Pokémon Masters EX where players can receive Pokémon Eggs that hatch into Pokémon of certain themes, usually of a specific type, with which the player can form sync pairs. During these events, the normally obtainable Eggs are not available from the permanent areas; instead, event-specific battles grant probabilities of giving Eggs. Pokémon from these Eggs randomly have one of three roles (Strike, Tech, or Support) and one to three passive skills. Some of these Eggs can hatch as Shiny Pokémon on rare occasions; these will always have three passive skills.

The chance of receiving an Egg after a battle can increase by including specific sync pairs on a team:

• Scottie/Bettie paired with a Pokémon of a matching type: increased by a factor of 0.8×
• Scottie/Bettie paired with any other Pokémon: increased by a factor of 0.4×
• Any other sync pair of a matching type: increased by a factor of 0.2×

Lastly, a limited-time Egg incubator gets added to Bellis's Lab for the duration of each event.

Bug-Type Egg Event

This event ran from July 20 to August 3, 2020. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Scyther, Pinsir, Venonat, or Weedle. Strike Scyther and Strike Pinsir could hatch as Shiny Pokémon.

Ice- and Fighting-Type Egg Event

This event ran from October 22 to November 12, 2020. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Lapras, Mankey, Seel or Machop. Tech Lapras and Support Mankey could hatch as Shiny Pokémon.

The event was originally scheduled to end on November 5, 2020; however, it was discovered that after updating to version 2.2.0, players could receive non-event Eggs from areas outside the event. As compensation for this bug, the duration of the event was extended, all players received 300 non-paid Gems, and players who had an active Eggcelerator Pass received an additional 300 non-paid Gems.

This event ran from September 27 to October 11, 2023. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Tauros, Kangaskhan, Lickitung, Cleffa, and Igglybuff. Tech Lickitung, Strike Tauros, Strike Kangaskhan, Strike Cleffa, and Support Igglybuff could hatch as Shiny Pokémon.

Many Possibilities

This event ran from November 21 to December 5, 2023. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Eevee, which would evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon based on the type of their sync move. Eevee of any sync move type could hatch as Shiny Pokémon. All Eevee hatched during this event had the Tech role.

Trivia

• The Ghost- and Poison-Type Egg Event was the first Egg event:
  • To copy opponents from a previous Egg event, the Psychic- and Poison-Type Egg Event.
  • To have opponents with a weakness type (Psychic) that does not match any type listed in its event's title.
• The two versions of the Flying- and Psychic-Type Egg Event are the only name-matching Egg Events to share all their Egg Pokémon. None were added or removed for its rerun.
• Raise Tyrogue! was the first Egg event since the Fighting- and Bug-Type Egg Event to feature a unique set of opponents.
• Excluding the Daily Battle event The Golden Magikarp!, Raise Tyrogue! was the only Egg event to have:
  • An Egg Pokémon that can be shiny no matter its role.
  • The highest chance of its most difficult battle giving an Egg be under 45%. This chance caps at 44%*.
  • Three identical Trainers of the same class, Black Belt, as opponents.
• Meow Meow Meow! is likely a reference to National Cat Day, which is celebrated in Japan on February 22, the same day this event began.
• Do You Want An Egg? was the only Egg event to feature a playable sync pair (Ball Guy) as an opponent.
• The gap between the end of the Poison-, Dragon-, and Flying-Type Egg Event and the beginning of the Fire- and Psychic-Type Egg Event was the longest gap between consecutive Egg events, at 108 days.
  • Prior to this, there had never been a month without an Egg event since Egg events were introduced.
