Lear	Ready with the camera, <player>? Good. Start rolling! Ahem! Sync pairs of Pasio, hear my words! I'm happy to announce that we'll be holding a new kind of event to promote Pasio! We're calling it...the Battle of the Golden Spheres! I'll explain how it works, so listen up!
Rachel	Yeah, and if you, like, still don't get it after that, we'll tooootally answer any questions you’ve got later on!
Sawyer	First, let's give them an overview of the event. Take it away, young master!
Lear	Certainly! Here are the rules! We'll start by creating two teams of sync pairs, each led by two leaders in special costumes! We'll hide five golden spheres all over Pasio. The team that brings more of these spheres back to their camp wins the game! It's as simple as that! You can also challenge your opponents to a Pokémon battle before they get back to their camp in order to steal their golden spheres! Battle with honor! Show us your finest moves, and try to take as many golden spheres from your opponents as you can!
Rachel	Uh...quick question! How're the spectators gonna know what's going on if the battles are spread out all over Pasio?
Lear	Excellent question! We'll have cameras following everyone around, so all battles will be livestreamed with commentary! Don't forget that we're trying to promote Pasio with showy battles! How you make it a show is completely up to you! Winning isn't enough to be a top-class sync pair! You also have to make your battles entertaining! Only the best know how to work a crowd! Also, keep in mind that we've designed this as a team event! Coordinating with your teammates is key!
Rachel	Cooliooo. Thanks for that, Master Lear!
Lear	We've also prepared some special prizes for the winning team, so sign up now to join the event!
Sawyer	One more question. How exactly are we going to split all the participants into two teams?
Lear	Heh. I've already decided on themes for each team! Everyone can join the team that suits them the best. I've already appointed the leaders that'll head each team! Two for each, in fact! I chose them based on some rumors I heard—that there are four Trainers who partnered up with some interesting Pokémon here on Pasio! From what I've seen, they all perfectly fit my vision for each team's theme! I'll even give everyone access to my wardrobe of clothes from other regions! So be grateful! The flashier your outfit, the better! These costumes are going to help us keep Pasio in the spotlight! Just wait until you see these team leaders in their special costumes. It'll blow you away! Now then...<player>! Just like today, I'd like you to help with filming when we hold this event! Why are you so surprised? Today was enough of a rehearsal, wasn't it? Not to worry! You won't be the only one behind the cameras out there! I've arranged for a whole crew of sync pairs to be out and about filming all these battles! I even have other things planned, as well! For example—

Koga	Fwahahaha! Our reliable general is leading his troops from the front lines! Let's be on our way, Janine!

Valerie	We should probably head out, too.

Jasmine	W-wait for me! It's really hard to move in this costume...

Hilda	So your partner Pokémon Keldeo is in its Resolute Form, huh? I've heard that it's a Pokémon that changes form when its resolve for battle is strong!
Diantha	I see! I've also heard stories of your partner Pokémon, Diancie, back in the Kalos region. They say that its pink, glimmering body is the loveliest sight in the whole world.
Wikstrom	Pardon the interruption! Diantha, how would you like us to approach this battle?
Diantha	Let's see... Perhaps we should discuss this as a team.
Lt. Surge	If this is a search for golden spheres, we should probably split up to find them!
Siebold	Hmm... Traveling as a large group might be safer if we run into anyone who'll try to attack us... But that also means we'd lose range and mobility, so it might not be the best option for this event.
Diantha	It does sound like it'd be better to spread out and search rather than stay together, then.
Glacia	I see. So it's decided, right? Our plan is to spread out and look for those spheres?
Fantina	Oui! Everyone on our team is strong, and we'll all be fine even when we're apart!
Diantha	Very well! Ahem! Henceforth, we'll spread out our forces and expand our reach! Onward, my troops! Let's find those golden spheres before our opponents do and claim ourselves a victory!

Glacia	Quick, let's take it back to our camp at once!
Siebold	Just like in cooking, you can't let your guard down until the final touches are in place.
Wikstrom	Aye, you speak the truth. We shan't let our guards down as we return.
(Transition to the group in the forest)
Wikstrom	I didn't expect we'd have to traverse this forest to return to our base camp... I fear we may be encroaching on enemy territory!
???	Fwahahaha! Halt right there!
(Janine and Koga appear)
Janine	If you want to pass through this forest, you'll have to battle us!
Wikstrom	Alas! Two members of the opposing team!
Koga	I'm afraid you're mistaken. We're not the only ones here!
(Guzma appears)
Guzma	Yo, yo, yo! It's your boy, Guzma!
Siebold	Oh no! Their leader is here, too?!
Guzma	You went through all that trouble of bringing that golden sphere here just so we can have it? Thanks, we'll take it! It's ours now! Hand it over!
Glacia	Absolutely not. If you're asking for a battle, a battle is what you'll get!
Wikstrom	No matter what great forces stand before us, we shall fight with valor till the very end!
Guzma	Heh. That so? Then I guess I just have to take it by force!
(Guzma, Janine, and Koga battle and defeat Glacia, Siebold, and Wikstrom)
Wikstrom	We crumble in defeat...
Guzma	Bahaha! Sorry, dude, this golden sphere is ours now! One down!
(Transition to Grimsley and Jasmine battling and defeating a group of Trainers)
Jasmine	Take this!
Ace Trainer	Aw, man... They're so strong!
Pokémon Ranger	Let's retreat!
(The Trainers leave)
Jasmine	Phew... We did it!
Grimsley	Well played, m'lady!
Jasmine	Um...is it just me, or have we not moved much since we left camp?
Grimsley	It's not just you. We haven't actually gone very far at all.
Jasmine	I knew it...
Grimsley	But that's because that costume is limiting your movement. It's not your fault.
Jasmine	What should we do? At this rate, we won't find any golden spheres!
Grimsley	Don't sweat it. Let's just take it slow and steady, one step at a time.
Jasmine	No, I can't take it easy! I want to support our team!
Grimsley	Hmm... Well, there is one way to do that... A way that uses your solid defensive moves to our advantage.

Grimsley	Whaddya think? Pretty good strategy, right?
Jasmine	I love it! Let's give it a shot! We're heading into enemy territory!

Rewind to before Hilda was cornered by Erika and the others...
Rising Star	Awesome! We found a golden sphere! That was easier than I thought!
Hilda	Yeah, we're doing great! At this rate, winning'll be a cin— Hm?
(Hilda notices Falkner spying on them)
Rising Star	What's wrong?
Hilda	I saw someone moving in the shadows just now.
Collector	Y-you mean someone from the other team is here?
Hilda	Yeah, I think so. But they're not making a move yet...probably because they don't have enough backup to take us on. Hmm... That gives me an idea.
(Fade to black, then back)
Rising Star	N-no way! That's risky!
Collector	I'm not sure if we'll be able to buy you enough time to do that...
Rising Star	If only we were as strong as you, Hilda. That'd be a different story...
Hilda	You'll be fine! We fought together all the way here, didn’t we? I know you two can do it. Can I count on you?
Rising Star	Um...OK! If you say so, we'll give it a try!
Hilda	Yeah! Next time we see each other, it'll be with smiles on our faces, OK?
And back to the present...
Hilda	Ooof!
Erika	Oh, are you OK? I hope we didn't overdo it.
Valerie	Sorry that we've cornered you like this...but a battle is a battle!
Falkner	Wow, these two are so easygoing yet so tough...
(A crowd forms around them)

Hiker	Look! The Battle of the Golden Spheres is happening right here in town!

Valerie	Why are you laughing?
Hilda	Running away was just part of our strategy! Time to turn these tables around!
(Keldeo appears and attacks Erika, Falkner, and Valerie's Pokémon)
Erika	Eeep!
Falkner	Wh-what?
(Diantha appears)
Diantha	Sorry to keep you waiting, Your Highness!
Hilda	Not at all! You arrived just in time!
Falkner	Reinforcements! When did she have time to contact them?
Hilda	I knew for a fact that I was being followed! So I lured you here...all while pretending to be alone! My teammates bought me some time!
Falkner	Darn. So it was all a ruse!
Diantha	Let's go, Your Highness!
Hilda	Yes, my valiant knight!
(Diantha and Hilda defeat Erika, Falkner, and Valerie)
Valerie	Oh dear... They really have turned the tables on us!
Falkner	I guess we have no choice but to surrender!
Hilda	All right! Now we've got two golden spheres!
Youngster	Wow! That was amazing!
Black Belt	What a fantastic battle!
Diantha	I think the audience liked that! I'd say your efforts to captivate everyone with your battle have been a huge success!
Hilda	R-really? Well, I'm still nowhere near as good as you or Lisia, though...
Diantha	Are you sure? Look, Keldeo is praising you for a job well done, too!
Hilda	Thanks! Keldeo... I heard that you change forms when you feel resolute. I wanna be just like you. I'm gonna keep working at making my battles look super awesome to keep my audiences excited!

Guzma	Ready to get back in the game, Buzzwole? Yeah? All right, time to really do some damage!
Street Thug	Guzma, sir! The enemy stole our golden sphere!
Guzma	What?!
Street Thug	My bad! We weren't careful enough.
Guzma	No worries. If they stole it from us, let's just steal it right back! No sense cryin' over it. Let’s go!
Street Thug	Thank you! And sorry for the inconvenience, sir!
Guzma	Hmph. Even if they've taken our golden sphere, they still have to take it all the way back to their camp. So all we gotta do is storm right into their territory!
(Fantina, Korrina, and Lt. Surge with a golden sphere)
Korrina	Well, that was easier than I thought! We got a golden sphere!
Fantina	Oui! Let's bring it back to camp immediately!
Lt. Surge	Yeah! Even though the other team tried to stop us, they never stood a chance!
Korrina	Wait, look! Isn't that one of the leaders of the other team?
(Jasmine appears)
Jasmine	Do you know about the Steel type? They're very hard, cold, sharp... and really strong!
Ace Trainer (1)	Korrina! Lt. Surge! Fantina! I'm so sorry! We lost!
Ace Trainer (2)	And they took our golden sphere...
Jasmine	Nobody gets past me!
Lt. Surge	Heh. We won't let you block us!
Korrina	We'll break through your defense and get back to our camp!

Guzma	'Sup. You're late. Look. We've got two spheres on our side, and you've got two on yours... So all the spheres still in play are here in one spot!
Diantha	Yes, that does seem to be the case. Which means this battle will decide the winner once and for all!
Jasmine	We won't let you take any of our spheres! We'll take you down and win the game!
Hilda	That's my line! Losing's not an option for us, either! I'm gonna stand out and win this battle!
Guzma	All five golden spheres are gonna be ours! I'll rip that victory away from you if it's the last thing I do!
Diantha	That's the spirit! I'd expect no less from a worthy opponent! Let's have ourselves a proper duel!
(Grimsley watches from afar)

Ace Trainer	Look at Diantha! She's so cool!
Preschooler	Good luck, both of you!

Diantha	Hm? How would you know that, Professor?
Kukui	Uh...I mean, I'm a Professor...but also a Trainer, yeah? So it's like I have to live a double life!
Diantha	Oh, I see. I suppose you're right!
Kukui	Are you gonna be acting as a knight until the event starts?
Diantha	chuckle That would be a bit much, even for me! I'll make sure that Diantha the Knight shows up again at just the right moment!

Rosa	Battling in costumes is a little uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it over time!
Jasmine	So you've done something like this before, Rosa?
Rosa	Yup! Back in Unova, I got cast in some movies at Pokéstar Studios!
Hilda	Pokéstar Studios? That does sound familiar...
Jasmine	What kind of place is that?
Rosa	Well...it's this studio where they make movies, and I got scouted to act in some films they were making!
Jasmine	Wow! You acted in movies?
Hilda	You're practically a superstar!
Rosa	N-not at all! I'm nowhere near star status!
Hilda	But if you have experience in show biz, maybe you can give us some pointers on how to show off our battles on camera!
Rosa	Wh-why so serious all of a sudden?
Hilda	Well, this is something I've been thinking after seeing Diantha's battles and Lisia's performances... But I hope I can be like them and really make my battles something fun for everyone to watch!
Rosa	Hmm... This is just my own opinion, but... I think the most important thing to remember when being filmed is to have lots of fun while you're at it!
Hilda	So I should just...enjoy it?
Rosa	Of course, acting technique and expressing yourself are important, too! But having fun is number one on my list!

Guzma	Hey, gimme some credit. I did ask Madam Prez about 'em, OK? Buncha complicated stuff, if you ask me, but in short, Ultra Beasts are rad Pokémon from another dimension, yeah? That's all I have to know! My partner's my partner, no matter what it is or where it came from! All that matters is that anyone who crosses us gets a good beatdown!
Plumeria	Must be nice, having such a one-track mind.
Guzma	All right, let's go again, Buzzwole! Time to destroy 'em even more!

Steven	It means you can prove that you weren't at the crime scene when the incident occurred.
Shauna	Right, so the four of them can vouch for each other! Which means there're two suspects—Guzma and Melony?!
Steven	There're four if you include me and Shauna. We met up at one point, but before that, we were working separately.

Looker	I've found something peculiar on my end, too. I checked to see if the Phantom was involved in any prior incidents. But the Phantom Imaginate doesn't show up in any theft reports.
Steven	Even though they leave messages? That's odd...
Looker	Based on what Shauna said, the Phantom's existence is questionable, which explains why there's so little information.
Emma	I know as much as Mister Looker. I've never heard of them before.
Looker	Their existence is questionable...but Guzma's partner Pokémon was definitely stolen. We can at least confirm that there's someone out there calling themself the Phantom Imaginate.
