This card was included as a Regular card, an ultra rare card, a special illustration rare card, and a gold etched hyper rare card in the Obsidian Flames expansion, first released in the Japanese Ruler of the Black Flame expansion. The Regular, ultra rare, and hyper rare prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics, while the special illustration rare print is illustrated by AKIRA EGAWA. An SVP Promotional print numbered 056 with new artwork by takuyoa was included in the Charizard ex Premium Collection, released on October 20, 2023.

The Obsidian Flames Regular print was reprinted in the Japanese Shiny Treasure ex subset, alongside a new Full Art ultra rare print with artwork by 5ban Graphics and a new special illustration rare print with artwork by AKIRA EGAWA, featuring the Shiny version of Charizard. The Shiny Treasure ex ultra rare print of the card was released in English as an SVP Black Star Promo numbered 074 in the Paldean Fates Tins, released on February 9, 2024.
