Bulbapedia:James/Gardenia poll

This is a poll to see whether Cacnea's article should at James's Cacnea or Gardenia's Cacnea.

This poll is now closed. The majority viewpoint is for James's name, which fits in with the consensus previously reached on talk pages for other anime Pokémon.

Reason for James

We don't call these Benny's Lickitung, Susie's Vulpix, and Anthony's Primeape.
Most of Cacnea's time on the show was spent as James's Pokémon.
James only gave his Poké Ball to Gardenia. He did not release it the same way Paul releases his Pokémon. Cacnea is in a training session much like Ash's Charizard and Squirtle.

Reasons for Gardenia

Sabrina's Haunter, Casey's Beedrill, and Ash's Chimchar.
Now that Gardenia has Cacnea, the term "James's Cacnea" is meaningless, since James doesn't own a Cacnea.
Unlike with Ash's Charizard and Ash's Primeape, James actually gave the Poké Ball to Gardenia.
