Anthony (Japanese: トンペイ Tonpei) is a recurring character in Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire and a Pokémon Coordinator who entered the Hoenn Grand Festival. He appeared in Deceit and Assist and Rhapsody in Drew.

History
Ash and his friends met Anthony while he was on the beach looking for his Contest Ribbons and Contest Pass, which had been stolen by Team Rocket. He was worried that he would not be able to enter the Grand Festival. With the help of Ash, Max, and Officer Jenny, Anthony tracked down Team Rocket and retrieved his Ribbons just in time for the competition. It was revealed that he got the 52nd place in the first Appeals Round.
Anthony was able to get through the second appeal stage and the first two-on-two Contest Battle, but lost in the next two-on-two Contest Battle against May. He promised that, despite the loss, he would train harder to one day become a Top Coordinator.

Swalot was seen training with Anthony for the upcoming Grand Festival. After Team Rocket tried to steal Anthony's Ribbons, he had Swalot use a combination of Swallow and Spit Up to stop them in their tracks. After defeating Team Rocket, Swalot was used during the Appeals Round where its techniques had Anthony move on to the Battle Round. It was then used with Pinsir in Anthony's Double Battle against May where it used its mouth as a cannon to shoot Pinsir out.
Anthony told Ash and Max that he trained his Swalot from when it was a Gulpin.
Swalot's known moves are Swallow, Spit Up, Sludge Bomb, and Bullet Seed.

Anthony's Pinsir only made a brief appearance in Anthony's Double Battle against May. Swalot shot Pinsir out as a cannon to stop May's Combusken from attacking.
