Zweilous is a quadruped Pokémon that has muscular front legs with two claws on each foot, but rear legs that are less defined and have two small, backward-pointing toes without claws. Zweilous's fur is a gray-black while the body is a dark blue. There are tufts of fur over two heads with rounded points at the top, and Zweilous appears to have no eyes. There are two wings on the black section of its body that resemble the wings of Giratina's Origin Forme. The fur stops at the chests and opens up to fuschia-colored striped bands on the side of Zweilous's legs.

Behavior
Zweilous's heads dislike each other. As a result the heads often turn eating into a competition.
Habitat
Zweilous mainly live in cities. They migrate once they have eaten all the prey in its territory.
While its Sugimori art depicts it having two tufts of fur on each of its necks, no other rendition displays this.
According to interviews with Sugimori in Nintendo Dream, Zweilous and its evolution family were originally intended to be cyborg dragons - part tank and part dragon. They were then scrapped until late in the game when they were revived and re-made to be based on Yamata no Orochi.
Origin
Zweilous draws inspiration from the Yamata no Orochi. It is also similar to Zmeys, a Slavic, winged, polycephal species of dragon. Its Shiny coloration may be a reference to the green colored Zmey Gorynych.
Name origin
Zweilous's name is possibly derived from zwei, meaning two in German, and jealous, as the heads are always fighting each other for food. Zweilous is also phonetically similar to the term zealous, which reflects Zweilous's voracious appetite and intensely competitive nature. Jiheddo's name is probably derived from 二 ji, meaning two, and head, literally reading as "two heads". "Ji" is also how the greek prefix "di" (two) is pronounced in Japanese, in words such as "dioxane" (jiokisan).
