Woodward (Japanese: ジンゴロウ Jingoro) is a character of the day who appeared in Mending a Broken Spirit!.
Woodward is a skilled tree surgeon who became known for miraculously reattaching a Sawsbuck's broken horn. After Serena's Braixen accidentally broke her branch, Serena approached him for help after a recommendation from Nurse Joy, accompanied by a disguised James. Woodward declined to fix the branch, explaining that Sawsbuck was only healed due to its willpower, and challenged Braixen to a battle to prove hers, using his Gallade.
Following an interruption by Team Rocket, Woodward admitted that Braixen's branch was already beyond repair to begin with. He explained that he wanted to teach Braixen the importance of letting go of past memories in order to become stronger. Woodward resumed the battle with Braixen demonstrating the Fire Blast she learned moments before with aplomb, and ended the battle with no clear winner, pleased that Braixen had proved itself. Before Serena left, he revealed to have grafted the fragments of Braixen's old branch onto a sapling so they could grow into new life.

| Gallade is Woodward's only known Pokémon, who helps him out with maintaining the plants under Woodward's care. Woodward used Gallade in a battle against Serena and her Braixen, but it got interrupted by Team Rocket. After Team Rocket had been blasted off, the battle was resumed, but after Gallade was hit by Braixen's newly learned Fire Blast, the battle was called off by Woodward.
Gallade's only known moves are Slash and Psycho Cut. | ||
