Wattson's Manectric: Difference between revisions

Manectric first appeared as an Electrike in ''[[AG040|Watt's with Wattson?]]''. Wattson become depressed after he lost to {{Ash}} when his {{AP|Pikachu}} knocked out all three of his Pokémon. An Electrike goes up to him which cheered him up. With Electrike around, Wattson forgot about the loss completely and fed the {{type|Electric}} some Pokémon food.

Wattson continued to play with the Electrike and when Electrike was about to perform its Thunder Wave attack, {{TRT}} interfere with their [[Team Rocket's mechas|Vacuum car]]. Wattson runs up to them and asks them what they are doing with the mecha. They respond by sucking up the Pokémon in the [[New Mauville|Power Plant]] including Electrike and Ash's Pikachu. With Team Rocket distracted by the robot Raikou Wattson uses at his Gym, this gave Electrike the chance to break out of the cage with Pikachu's assistance. Electrike managed to do so with its Bite attack and reunites with Wattson. It battles with [[Jessie's Dustox]] and defeats it after it gave Pikachu problems. After Team Rocket get blasted off, Electrike decides that it wants to stay with Wattson and Wattson adds it to the team. Wattson then says his goodbyes to Ash and {{ashfr}}, promising to battle him in the future.

Electrike returns in ''[[AG059|Manectric Charge]]''. When Ash and the others were at [[Mauville City]] again, Team Rocket tried to steal all of their Pokémon. However, Wattson and {{an|Watt}} arrived to stop Team Rocket in their tracks once again. Electrike tries to use Thunder Wave on their balloon but the attack had very little effect. When {{an|Watt}}'s {{p|Ampharos}} freed the Pokémon with {{m|Iron Tail}}. Electrike finishes the trio off along with Pikachu's {{m|Thunderbolt}}. After the battle, Electrike starts to evolve into Manectric. Wattson was very happy to see his Electrike evolve.

Ash decided to challenge Wattson and his Manectric to a training match with his newly caught {{AP|Torkoal}} which Wattson gladly accepted. Later in the Gym, Wattson sends it out to battle Torkoal. Torkoal started things off with {{m|Overheat}} which fazed Manectric a bit. When Torkoal used the move again, Manectric took very little damage this time due to Overheat's effect of getting weaker. Torkoal switched to {{m|Flamethrower}} which made contact with Manectric but it shook off the attack. Manectric then starts to use a combination of Charge and Thunder Wave while Torkoal countered with Overheat. Due to Overheat's effect, Thunder Wave gets through and hits Torkoal, which made Manectric emerge victorious.

Manectric is Wattson's main Pokémon in {{game|Emerald}}, though he does not appear at all in {{v2|Ruby and Sapphire|s}}. Along with Manectric, Wattson commands an Electrike in the Gym battle against him, though it does not appear in [[rematch]]es. Manectric later appears in {{game|Black and White|s|Pokémon Black 2 and White 2|2}} in all the tournaments in which Wattson is featured.

Wattson's Manectric first appears as an Electrike in ''[[PS204|VS Electrike I]]'', where it was used to battle the children that challenged Wattson to a Gym battle. Together, with Wattson's two {{p|Magnemite}}, it easily defeated the children. After arriving in [[New Mauville]], Wattson becomes captured by the generator powering the area. Electrike, along with Magnemite, manages to escape and gets {{adv|Sapphire}} and the [[Trick Master|Robot King]] to help. During the battle with the generator, Electrike used its {{a|Lightningrod}} to draw in the generator's electricity, allowing Sapphire to attack and defeat it.

In ''[[PS222|VS Shiftry]]'', Electrike was revealed to have evolved into a {{p|Manectric}}. There, Wattson used Manectric as transport to take him to Fortree City.

During the battle with {{p|Kyogre}}, Manectric was used to battle Sea Basin Pokémon, although it proved to be too strong for Manectric to damage it heavily. Later, Manectric was used to battle [[Aqua Admin Amber|Amber]] when the Team Aqua Admin came to prevent Wattson from stopping Kyogre's rampage. First, Manectric faced Amber's {{p|Pelipper}}, and easily won thanks to its type advantage.

Despite this victory, Amber reveals that his Nincada also created a {{p|Shedinja}} from the evolution. The Shedinja knocks Wattson out and sends him into the water, with Manectric also knocked down soon after. Later, Wattson and Manectric are rescued by Sapphire's {{DL|Sapphire (Adventures)|Lorry}}, who sent them back up to the surface with {{m|Dive}} and {{m|Water Spout}}.
