Wallpaper

This article is about the wallpapers used in the Pokémon Storage System. For the wallpapers used in Pokémon-Amie, see List of Pokémon-Amie Décor items. For the wallpapers stored in the Fashion Case, see Backdrop.

A wallpaper (Japanese: 壁紙(かべがみ) wallpaper) is a background used in a Box in the Pokémon Storage System. They first appeared in Generation III. They are purely cosmetic and offer a way to visually distinguish Boxes from each other.

Prior to Generation VIII, the core series games categorized the wallpapers into themes, typically including three themes labeled "Scenery" which depict different natural environments for Pokémon, as well as an "Etcetera" or "Misc." theme, which have designs that are more pattern-based or simplistic. Generation IV also introduced the concept of extra sets of unique wallpapers that are unlocked through completing events in the game's story.

Walda

In Pokémon Emerald, certain unique phrases will result in Walda's father in Rustboro City giving the player a special, customizable wallpaper design by cheering Walda up and making her laugh. These wallpapers can be generated online at various websites. The player can only have one customized wallpaper, which is categorized under "Friends". The following are a few examples of the wallpapers that can be generated.

The only known official distribution using this feature was on the Pokémon Daisuki Club website around the time of Emerald's launch in Japan in September 2004.[1] Club members could input their Trainer ID number into a generator, and this would provide a code for a Pikachu patterned wallpaper with the HEX colour codes #f850a0 and #f850f8.
