Valencia Island (Japanese: ダイダイ島 Daidai Island) is located in the southwestern region of the Orange Archipelago.
Ash and his friends first crash-landed onto Valencia Island in Poké Ball Peril after a trip aboard Team Rocket’s blimp, beginning their adventures in the Orange Islands.
Valencia Island is home to Professor Ivy and her extensive lab. She studies the alternate coloration of certain Pokémon on the island, including Vileplume. The laboratory is nestled amongst dense forest and a wide bay. Brock decided to remain on Valencia to assist the Professor and her assistants with the research and general upkeep of the lab. However, he later left the facility prior to A Tent Situation, unable to speak of what occurred.
The island also has its own blimp station and Pokémon Center.

- Pokémon on Valencia Island having different colors than the same species elsewhere in the world is similar to the concept of regional forms, which would be introduced into the main series with Pokémon Sun and Moon, 17 years after Valencia Island's debut.
