::... and it's very rare for an article to be based on a wikipedia one: you could easily say that it's because you normaly don't want that article (yet), specialy when we're talking about a wiki that's too much general on those matters. So why does {{template|WikipediaBased}} exist, when there are certain wikis from our partnership that sometimes write something notable before Bulbapedia? :::The WikipediaBased template is an overhang from when Bulbapedia was a wee infant with a userbase of a couple of hundred people. We're bigger than that now, and in general that template just shouldn't be used on any new articles. | |||
:::In regards to other wikis having articles on "notable" stuff before we do, that's because each wiki has its own independent notability and rules system. In particular, we have a "Wait until it airs" rule for the anime and most, if not all, of our partners don't.
