Welcome to Bulbapedia, Taromon777!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. You will have to register separately for it, as well. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Taromon777/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! MoldyOrange 18:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Links, templates, and preview

When you want to make a link, you use square brackets, like this: [[Match Place]]. Curly brackets are used for templates, which we do use frequently for links, but you should review link templates and see the list of link templates before you use them. Usually they look something like this: {{2v2|Diamond|Pearl}}. Finally, please use the "Show preview" button when you're making an edit to make sure you're actually doing what you want to do. Thanks! — Laoris (Blah) 23:25, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot today. You may not be aware of this, but Bulbapedia has a Userspace policy that asks users to try and minimize the number of Userspace edits they make in a short period of time. Instead of making multiple edits, why not use the Preview button (Alt + Shift + P) located right next to the edit button to look at your page and see how it is coming? That way, your page can look great while staying within the required amount of edits. Just wait until tomorrow, ok? Thanks! --×Kevzo8 13:07, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Hold on!

If you did not read your last warning, then please read it now. You have edited the User: namespace to much for now. Please do not edit your page any more for now, as it is hard on the server. Thank you, ---- MAGNEDETH 19:23, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

well, just be aware, you dont want to edit the userspace too much. it is against the rules. try making some mainspace edits. also, use the preview button, that will let you make a lot of edits, but only count at one edit. lastly, you dont need to come to my page to respond, just do it right here on your page. -- MAGNEDETH 20:23, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Does anyone know of a Bulbapedia project I could help out with? I'm excited to start making bigger contributions to the site but I don't really know where to start! Taromon777 22:19, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

I just tried to edit my page but when I clicked "save" it didn't save! I've just lost all the changes I made. Does anyone have an explaination? I'll have to wait until tomorrow now, I've done too many changes already. Taromon777 10:19, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, the server must have been down at that exact second. Unless you can go "back" you've lost everything you've done. — THE TROM — 10:25, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Is it OK to have a link to my Pokémon website on my user page? Just thought I'd better check first. Taromon777 10:44, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

At least I don't see any reason why that would be disallowed. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 10:47, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

How do you make a fancy signiature for when you sign edits on a talk page? Taromon777 20:27, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

This page gives guidelines for signatures and also has an example. —darklordtrom 06:05, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
How do I change the font of my signiature? I tried it and it just said something like: "Invalid signiature. Check HTML tags". --Taromon777 11:45, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Pokémon Annual

Would it help if I expanded the sections of Pokémon Annual with the annuals I own? With the 2008 annual, shall I use the text from the annuals themselves for the Pokémon profiles? If so, I will be starting work tomorrow. Regards, Samjohn95 22:26, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

That would be a great help, thanks! Do you have a scanner? Or know anyone who does have one? We really need pictures of the covers! Taromon 22:59, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
I've got a scanner, but I don't know if the pictures would be OK. I only have Annual 2005, 2008 and 2009. I'll get 2005, if I can! From Samjohn95 16:48, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
I've managed to find pictures of all the annuals from 2006 onwards on Amazon.com, but thanks anyway! Taromon 21:30, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Wow, the picture of the 2005 annual looks great! Thanks! Taromon 21:31, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Could you stop adding the required moves to the articles for now? While the Project Leader did say that the Route Description was a section that it would fit in, it may fit somewhere better. If you could give the staff some time to discuss these additions, that would be great. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 12:16, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Er, OK, sorry about that. It's just that someone on the Main Page talk said it was a brilliant idea. If you're wondering why I was putting "Requirements" with "Moves" underneath, it's for the routes in Hoenn and Sinnoh where a bicycle is required. But don't worry, I'll stop for the time being. Maybe this should be discussed on the Project Routes talk page? Taromon 12:19, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
It would always be best when suggesting somewhat large-scale projects, to wait for a fair number of users to throw in their opinions as well as giving the Project Leader & staff some time to discuss exactly how it should be implemented. If you wish to bring it up on the Project Routes talk, feel free. Just remember to give fair time for user suggestions, and for the staff to throw in their insight. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 12:26, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Clarky, the leader of Project Routes, said that the info should go in Route Description, but I'm going to bring it up on the Project Routes talk page, just to double check! Taromon 12:28, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Could somebody give me a bit of advice on Usertag wikicode? I tried to change the "This user is a Leo" usertag to have a picture of Entei instead of Luxio and it went all glitchy. Taromon 18:36, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh, it's OK, I've worked it out now! Taromon 20:22, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Glitchy party boxes

These weird symbols have recently started appearing in my Pokémon party boxes on my userpage. They look a bit like this: {{{OT6}}}. I tried to fix it but it messed up the boxes, how do I do this? Taromon 13:28, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Try doing this: {{{OT#|}}}. It'll make nothing show. Also, they aren't glitches; they were supposed to be for OTs, but shortly after, the template was replaced. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 13:34, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
That seems to have worked, thanks! Do you know how I can sort out Beautifly and Castform's gender? Beautifly is male and Castform is female. And Gardevoir's box seems to be slightly longer than the others. (In case you were wondering, someone else made the tables for me; I'm hopeless with advanced wikicode!) Taromon 14:00, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
I don't know about the sizes, but for the genders, replace the {{{gender}}} in the coding with ♀ or ♂. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 14:34, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
That was simpler than I thought! It's all sorted now, except for Gardevoir's box size, which doesn't matter too much. Thanks for your help! Taromon 14:39, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

copying some of your templates... gee. sorry as i dont know how to make my own templates

Don't worry that's fine... I don't know how to make them either! Someone made them for me... Taromon 14:02, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Creating articles in the user space?

A little while ago I saw someone mention creating articles in the user space, does anyone know how to do this? T a r o m o n 21:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Type User:Taromon777/Whatever into the search box, and click Create this article. Then edit it like you would any other page. Just remember that subpage edits still count towards the userspace edit limit. Werdnae (talk) 21:56, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
OK I'll try that, thanks! T a r o m o n 10:22, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon Annual

Hi. I understand if you don't have a scanner, but if you have a camera, I was wondering if you could do me a favor. I have the Pokemon Annual from 2006, but the pages for "Game-Winning Assist's" novelization are missing. Do you think you could perhaps take a picture of those pages and put them on my Talk page? Thanks a ton in advance. Todr06 01:27, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Is this for the article or do you just want to read them? lol Yeah I can do that, would you prefer one page per photo or two pages per photo (the latter would be easier)? Might take a little while as I'm a bit busy, but I'll see what I can do T a r o m o n 11:10, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
I just want to read 'em, haha. Two pages is fine. Thanks!Todr06 17:58, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Any updates? Anyway, one of my friends had the same problem with his annual when he bought his (he's another collector), so those especially appreciated. Sorry if I'm annoying, but it'd be awesome if you could get those pics up.Todr06 01:59, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Sorry I completely forgot, it's a good thing you reminded me! I've been quite busy lately so I tend to get a bit sidetracked. I've got a new camera now which is really easy to use, so I'll get the pictures to you as soon as I can! T a r o m o n 12:03, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Awesome, you're the best. I completely understand being busy interfering with online favors and stuff: it's happening to me right now! Anyway, I appreciate it! No need to rush, life comes first! Todr06 23:38, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Just so you know

File: is preferred to Image:, so you shouldn't make change File: to Image:, like you did here. --SnorlaxMonster 09:47, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Oops sorry, I knew one was preferred over the other but couldn't remember which... ^^ T a r o m o n 12:09, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

User:Taromon777/Multiple entity Pokemon

Please rename the article User:Taromon777/Multiple entity Pokémon as Multiple entity Pokemon. Because of the "User:Taromon777," the site recognizes it as as User talk page, which makes people almost break the B&W server stress rule. Also, it makes it less seen. If conspicious, people will continuously go to this page for fun and education. Please rename it. Jdrawer 03:20, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Future mainspacable pages don't fall under the one user page edit a day rule. For the last time, it's not because of BW server stress that we have reduced userpage editing, it's because we have better things to do. Jellotalk 03:25, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
