:::I don't have the GB Sounds registered so I always called it from the Bag when attempting to perform the glitch. I also made sure no wild Pokémon encounters took place and the glitch still didn't work. Maybe it has to do with the tiles you Surf on between Route 20 and Cinnabar Island, since I always kept at least one tile from the border between the locations. Or are you even sure you didn't have in turned on in Cinnabar and Route 20 before trying to do this and since you had flown there for the last time?
