By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Umm

Don't want to sound confrontational but was there a reason as to why my edit got reverted on Ash's Glalie page? It took out the image of Ash's Snorunt using Headbutt and the separation was necessary. In the future, if you revert someone's edit, state on the edit summary as to why unless it's obvious (i.e.: spam). PattyMan 01:02, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, didn't know i was suppose to state why I reverted somebody's edit. Pokemon don't get two boxes for their moves unless they've used at least six moves. Glalie has only used four.Reinhartmax (talk) 01:14, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your input. Stating reasons in the edit summary during reversions is also for learning purposes so users could know what they could do next time. In the meantime, I'll just add back Snorunt's Headbutt image since it was accidentally removed. PattyMan 01:19, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Ash's Leavanny

Why did you undo the edit to Ash's Leavanny? Ash's Leavanny used String Shot and Energy Ball so there's no need for the pictures of him using those attacks back when he was a Sewaddle and Swadloon respectively. Plus, putting up a second picture makes the Move Used section look crowded since Leavanny only used 6 moves. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 15:11, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

I just copied the code from an old edit because it needed two boxes because it had at least six moves. Reinhartmax (talk) 20:56, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

But why does it need two boxes? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 02:28, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

When a Pokemon uses six moves or more it gets two boxes. Things like Ash's Frogadier or Charizard and all others that fit this and have two boxes. Reinhartmax (talk) 20:25, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

Temporarily-controlled/"borrowed" Pokémon

If a character temporarily controlled or "borrowed" a Pokémon, the template for that character's Pokémon does not go on that Pokémon's page. Please stop adding them. Thank you. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 05:03, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know that. Thanks for informing me. Reinhartmax (talk) 05:04, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Champion in the anime

Winning the regional conference does not make them the champion. Games=/=anime. As said in the Diamond and Pearl series, to become the champion, one has to beat the actual champion. Winning the conference just makes them eligible to battle the champion for the title.--ForceFire 04:58, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Manga moves.

Hello, I see that you have been adding moves to the Pokespe manga section for some time now. However, I'd like you to know that we have a rule here. Under no circumstances are you to add moves that have not been explicitly called out by a Trainer. You see, it is very hard to determine what move is being used unless a Trainer outright states what it is. Sometimes it is hard to even know if it's a move or just a basic attack. In addition, with so many moves of each type, it is hard to determine whether or not a move is one move or a completely different one. As such, we have chosen not to assume any move unless it is called out. Please, in the future, only add moves that were called out. If it isn't called out, just ignore it completely. Thank you. Ataro (talk) 01:36, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

This is your reminder to not do this. Unless Dia's Regigigas was stated to have used Avalanche, do not add it. This is your final warning. Do it again and you will be blocked. Ataro (talk) 05:33, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
OK, it's been awhile, so I'm gonna be lenient here. But still. Only unless they're called out should they be added. Ataro (talk) 22:59, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Sorry. Marisso's page said it used the move there. I'll be more careful.Reinhartmax (talk) 23:03, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

Squishy's Extreme Speed

Is there any particular reason you deleted that from XY133's major events? It's considered a major event when a Pokémon on the main cast learns or is revealed to know a new move. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:16, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

I thought it was only put in major events if a main character's Pokémon had a new move. Also none of the other pages where Squishy had a new move mentioned it on major events. Reinhartmax (talk) 02:22, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
Its only other moves revealed are Land's Wrath (which it used in its debut episode) and Dragon Pulse (which made its debut in the Magearna movie), which probably has something to do with it. Besides, the Pokémon in question can be a main character as opposed to just belonging to a main character. The episodes in which Meowth is revealed to know his moves make mention of this in Major Events. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:50, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
Ok, I won't take that stuff down again. Reinhartmax (talk) 02:56, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Linking to episodes

When linking to episodes, please use these before and after the link: '' That way, it will come out in italics. So use ''[[XY130|Finals Not for the Faint-Hearted!]]'' instead of [[XY130|Finals Not for the Faint-Hearted!]]. Thank you. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 14:35, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Sure thing. Reinhartmax (talk) 14:46, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon appearances in Pokémon Generations

Hi there. When adding information about Pokémon appearances in Generations, please don't forget to put the preceding headers under an "In the main series" header, like so. Thanks! --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 19:05, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Got it. Reinhartmax (talk) 19:17, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Just a reminder, please don't forget to do this. Thanks. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 19:25, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Anime moves

Hi! I just want to make sure our policy on adding moves from the anime is clear, given your recent edit after moves were removed. Unless the move is called (or else explicitly identified after being used), please do not assume.

The only moves it's tentatively acceptable to identify by animation alone are the ones listed here. I notice that Hyper Beam is currently on that list, but I haven't seen this episode and I don't know a great amount about the anime in general; but I think it'd be best to discuss whether Hyper Beam is appropriate for Raticate. Bite, on the other hand, is definitely not on the list.

So please try to remember this when adding moves for the anime in the future. Thanks! Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Tupper's Salandit

Thanks for your help on my page, having used my daily three limit, I wasn't able to edit the page--BigDocFan (talk) 19:14, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

No problem. Glad I could help. Reinhartmax (talk) 19:15, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

Please wait.

If it would be so kind, could you not immediately begin editing the articles when the scans of PokeSPedia are being posted. I am trying to actually translate the Abilities and natures and it is incredibly frustrating seeing levels added and nothing else, especially since it forces me to open a new tab and replace your edit with what I was typing. In the end, all you're doing is making more work. Thank you. Ataro (talk) 01:40, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Blocked.

If someone is causing an edit war, then best course of action is to report them to an admin. Constantly reverting the person after they revert you isn't actually solving anything. Ataro (talk) 21:50, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

Note

Shauna's Neko was referred to as Kitty in Chapter 38, but I am not going to proceed on this just yet which is why I sent a message to Abcboy. -Tyler53841 (talk) 04:24, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Creating unnecessary redirect links

May I ask you to please stop purposefully creating redirect links when creating links to new pages? To use the newest case as an example, please make your links like this: {{DL|Tower duo (Adventures)|Lugia}} instead of like this: {{adv|Lugia}}. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 05:49, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Gladion's Umbreon

Just to say thanks for your help with my Gladion's Umbreon page.

Ultra Beasts

The Ultra Beasts the characters caught were only owned for less than an episode, they don't count and shouldn't be added to the released section, they belong to the temporary section. The released section is only for Pokémon they've owned for a prolonged period of time.--ForceFire 04:11, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

Brendan's father

Norman is May's father in the anime so why's it not possible for Brendan to be Birch's father. Norman was the playable character's father and Birch was the father of the character that was the rival. So why isn't it possible Brendan is Birch's son. From, Sean 23:46, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

Games=/=anime. The anime doesn't have to follow everything from the games, so it is speculation to say that Birch is Brandon's father in the anime.--ForceFire 06:54, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Trainer classes

Please stop categorizing Trainer classes as characters—they're not. If you would like to make a major change like these, I recommend discussing it first. --SnorlaxMonster 14:32, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hello, I was amazed to see 79 articles so soon in the Nicknamed Pokémon category. Thanks a lot. Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 18:11, 17 February 2019 (UTC)

No problem. Glad to help. Reinhartmax (talk) 15:57, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
I guess you had a ready list of these Pokémon? Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 16:41, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
Most Pokemon from the Adventures manga are nicknamed. The rest I had to look for. Reinhartmax (talk) 17:08, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Satsjoe

Have you not noticed that Satsjoe explicitly stated, at the top of the page, to not edit his Pokémon team history pages, unless it's fixing a typo? Please, stop editing those pages and leave it up to him to decide what he wants to do with them. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:33, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

It said not to edit unless fixing an error. I thought missing information counted as an error. Reinhartmax (talk) 15:56, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
It doesn't. He either has chosen not to add that information on the page, has forgotten to do it, or hasn't had a chance to do so. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:11, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Ida's Primarina

Was wondering if you could give me a hand with User:BigDocFan/Ida's Primarina please?--BigDocFan (talk) 11:01, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure what else to add but I'll try to find some stuff to help. Reinhartmax (talk) 12:18, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, probably not notable enough right now for mainspacing but hopefully it will return in future episodes.--BigDocFan (talk) 13:25, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

Your edits

I've created "In the anime" sections for human and Pokémon characters in order to better distinguish the anime content from the non-anime content featured in the same articles, i.e. manga and TCG. Please don't turn the "Character/Personality and characteristics" and "Moves used" subsections, otherwise it messes up the format. Thank you. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:10, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Grandpa Forest

Sorry to keep disturbing you, was wondering if you could assist with User:BigDocFan/Grandpa Forest--BigDocFan (talk) 12:19, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

It's no problem. I'll do what I can but I don't know how much more I can add to the page. Reinhartmax (talk) 12:45, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Electro Ball

It doesn't matter if it's been used before in the same series, if it's not one of the moves on this site with a unique animation and it doesn't get commanded, they don't get added, because that's still speculation. That's how it is, so don't edit war. Playerking95 (talk) 16:53, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Ilima‎‎

No, it doesn't mean Ilima‎‎ participated in a conference, just like it was discussed with SM065. League's are also the term for whole journey of collecting badges. Collecting badges is a part of participating in the League. Like how Ash use to sign up for the regional League at the start of each series, before he battled the Gyms. It was never said that he participated in a conference, so we absolutely don't know if he collected any badges at all. Playerking95 (talk) 16:07, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

If he participated in the Kalos Leauge, it means he collected the badges. Otherwise they would use a different term instead of saying he participated in a Leauge.Reinhartmax (talk) 16:53, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Pokemon Special (Adventures) Sapphire's Pokedex Ownter Title

Hi

I noticed that you undid my change for Sapphire's Pokédex Owner Title. Is there a reason why you did that?

Sapphire's title of "Conqueror" was never correct to begin with, which was why I changed it. 極める者 does not mean "conqueror", which the page so erroneously states. It simply means "a person who does 極", and 極 is the word for an extremity. Like the end of something, north pole (northern end), etc. So it means someone who follows through on something all the way to the end. Which suits Sapphire since her whole deal was to keep at least a part of the promise made with young Ruby. Her goal wasn't to beat all the Gyms to prove that she could, but rather to keep the promise. If just beating all the Gyms warrants such a title, then that belongs more to Black or even Platinum.

To conquer is to dominate, and that is just not Sapphire. And if that was the intent, her title would've been 覇める者 or something.

I don't know if you undid the change because you know something, or because you just memorized the title to be something different, but let me hear your thoughts too to sort this out.

The Hidden Type (talk) 16:25, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I saw someone else undid it and saw that was your only edits and assumed it was wrong. I'll leave it alone now.Reinhartmax (talk) 16:27, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
The Hidden Type, I would take this to an admin who deals with the manga and see what they say.--Rahl (talk) 17:02, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Trevor's Floette being red

Hey so I saw on your draft for Trevor's Floette that the flower is red, I was wondering where it was stated or if there was a colored image for it for confirmation.Animaltamer7 09:28, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
