Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Pokeresp!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Pokeresp/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!--Theryguy512 14:11, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Pokémon World (song)

Please don't insert information about that song playing in episodes where it didn't. That song wouldn't debut in the anime until EP084, hence your edits changing the English opening for EP081, EP082, and EP083 were incorrect. The song's predecessor, Pokémon Theme, didn't end until Brock left the group, and that was in EP083. Inserting false information like you did is frowned upon here, and is a blockable offense, so be careful. --Shiningpikablu252 20:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Are you sure? I've found and re-watched EP081 right now and its opening theme was Pokémon World. Well, I understand that the people who encoded it might have replaced the original opening song for some reason. After your message I tried to check it on Pokemon.com but couldn't find a clue. The articles about Pokémon on Wikipedia seem to have been copied from Bulbapedia (some even list it as a source) so all the mistakes were also copied. But if you are sure, I'm sorry for my edits. --Pokeresp 20:43, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
The televised airings are considered the canon airings for theme appearances. The themes might change on some home video releases, such as the Orange Islands DVDs. --Shiningpikablu252 20:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, then I'm wrong. Sorry for this. --Pokeresp 20:51, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

About your edit summary

How wouldn't it make sense? I mean Kirlia can learn Psychic moves which is strong against Combusken's Fighting. Should we perhaps discuss this on Talk:AG053? I still think they meant which of them Kirlia has the biggest advantage against. TheBlazikenMaster 00:08, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I thought, by "to battle with Kirlia" you meant "to be on one side with Kirlia in a double battle". Well, then it does make sense. However, such question ("Which of these Pokémon is the weakest to the given one?") has never been asked (or am I wrong?) whereas "Which of these Pokémon is the best choice to battle the given one?" is quite common. Hmph, those makers always mess with Trainer's Choice... Well, if you want to, add what you said back to the article. --Pokeresp 00:17, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Hm, interesting. In the next episode it's said the best choice to battle Forretress out of Minun, Swellow and Seviper is, of course, Seviper... --Pokeresp 00:59, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey!

Since you decided to intrude on my title project, you might as well be doing it correctly. ;) I updated the List of original series episodes to the correct titles and what the rest of the articles should be. They are all correct and I hope you don't change them thinking otherwise. I'm glad that someone else thinks that the dub title correction is important...thanks! If you want to help still, all the pages and links need corrected to what it says on the original episode list...that is the only one that is done, I don't have the resources to do the rest yet. MoldyOrange 02:05, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for answering to late, I haven't been on Bulbapedia recently. I'll now check all episode pages and update them according to the new edition of the list, as you said. What about links everywhere... Hm, that's not that easy, but with some automation... --Pokeresp 00:07, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually, you have to go to the what links here for each episode...I already did EP001, I also ask that you start from the end and work your way back so that we aren't trying to do the same stuff at the same time. MoldyOrange 00:11, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
OK --Pokeresp 00:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I forgot to tell you, don't add the title for things dealing with Japanese issues or any other page where the links aren't already put in. Episodes such as EP035 remain EP035 because they were only released in Japan. And, If I remember correctly, the voice actor pages don't have them and they shouldn't; If you have any questions about when it should or shouldn't be put in, bring them up to me and I will hopefully know what to do. ;) MoldyOrange 00:22, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
OK but, by the way, what was the source for these new titles? --Pokeresp 00:30, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Title cards, with some from pokemon.com when the title card had mistakes, I asked Zhen Lin and this is what he said to do. And, let me do Why? Why Not! since he said both were correct and both should be used, I know exactly what to do for it. MoldyOrange 00:37, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Try to do it in as few edits as possible, check every link on a page instead of just doing each link 1 at a time. I wanted to do the project in as little stress to the server as possible. MoldyOrange 00:39, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
In your list EP100 is called "Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon" whereas in the article it has a question mark. Don't you think there is a mistake on title card, because this is really a question? I'm not a native speaker of English, though...
Update. Do we really need to put a comma in Hook, Line, and Stinker? --Pokeresp 01:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
The Title card did not have a question mark...I double checked on that one; since there is nothing wrong with it the question mark shouldn't be there. And the comma is another punctuation mark, like the exclamation point, leaving it out would cause things to be wrong. It must be there! MoldyOrange 02:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Now all titles, prevtitles and nextitles in episode pages are synchronized with the list. As for links in all pages, IMHO, it's not that necessary to do it in a rush. They just should be corrected when they are spotted, like typos. --Pokeresp 17:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
If you want, I can do the links... MoldyOrange 17:04, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, if you really want to correct them all at once, I'll help. --Pokeresp 17:35, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
