By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Landfish7 19:36, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Very sorry! I've been editing the page as I uncover new information, so it's just been constant updating left and right. I'll try to limit my edits from here on out :) Meeper12346 (talk) 19:44, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Poké Times distributions

If we even make a page about this, I feel like it should be called List of Poké Times Pokémon distributions (Generation VIII), because Poké Times have been sporadically doing these giveaways (and not just through the HOME GTS) where they give away self farmed breedjects or in PLA's case low level Bidoof caught in the obsidian field lands. Most recently before Bidoof, these Stantler. I really don't feel like it merits its own page though since they are just breedjects from a semi-official source sure but its still just a breedjects giveaway and not some official event. Also the way they are being given away is through official ingame trading channels which means only a handful of people will be successful in trading for one, thereby limiting the relevance.4iamking (talk) 16:07, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

For this I just wanted to clarify, Event Pokémon are generally generated from a Pokémon template file (called a Wonder Card/Record), which sets the parameters of the specific event Pokémon. These Pokémon from Poké Times aren't generated from such a file since they are just hatched from eggs or caught in the wild and traded, thats why I would hesitate calling them "Event Pokémon", since the way that they are generated is no different than having your friend hatch you a Bidoof on route 209 and then trading it to you.4iamking (talk) 16:18, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
Sorry again, I just saw there is also List of traded event Pokémon distributions (Generation VIII), maybe it is best to merge these two pages, so all the Poké Times distributions are in the same spot, since we have an article for the others I think that would make the most sense... Seems stupid to have a separate page for the latest giveaway 4iamking (talk) 16:30, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Link templates

Please use the "m" link template when linking moves. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:24, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Major Events

For future reference, only episodes that feature a Pokemon belonging to a main character (Liko and Roy in the case of Horizons) get mentioned in the major events of episodes, Friede's Charizard isn't counted.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 17:06, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

Thank you! I was aware of that but Horizons' structure is so vastly different from Ash's adventures that it was hard to determine if Friede was considered a main character since unlike previous Professors (ex. Cerise), Friede and the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers do travel often alongside Liko. Meeper12346 (talk) 17:12, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
No problem, at the moment the only characters listed as main characters are Liko and Roy, the Rising Volt Tacklers are seen more as major supporting characters though that could change.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 17:14, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
Friede's Charizard now has a page that's been mainspaced, should the Major events edits be re-added to the episode pages? Meeper12346 (talk) 00:46, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
Whilst that is true, Friede isn't considered a main character like Liko and Roy, only when a Pokemon with its own page belonging to a main character learns a new move does it get listed as a major event. Many rival characters Pokemon have their own pages but we don't list their Pokemon as knowing new moves.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 11:14, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

Mainspacing articles

In the future, when mainspacing articles, they need to be moved from your userspace to the mainspace, not recreated in the mainspace with the mainspacing template removed from your project page. Frozen Fennec 02:31, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Sorry! Was worried moving would cause more troubles for the admins than just recreating the page ;; I'll remember that for next time. Meeper12346 (talk) 04:39, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Ginema Berry effect

In response to your edit to the page Ginema Berry: the source that's needed is one demonstrating the Ginema Berry having a different effect to the White Herb. We have access to the game's source code, and e-Reader Berries can only have item effects already programmed into the game; there is no "like White Herb but different" effect it can use, it can only be the effect of the White Herb. ThomasWinwood (talk) 06:45, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Do we know that it uses the same item effect for certain? The Eggant Berry for example cures attraction, which isn't an item effect anywhere else in the game. That being said, I haven't seen footage of how the Ginema Berry actually works - if it does use the same item effect ID, then I think one could argue that that be noted in Trivia. Meeper12346 (talk) 02:53, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
The Eggant Berry uses the same item effect as the Mental Herb. ThomasWinwood (talk) 03:04, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
Ah, got it. Yeah, it'd maybe be good to put that somewhere in Trivia then :) Meeper12346 (talk) 04:32, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
