Thanks for the welcome. I think I'll leave it up but I want to use this page for something...dunno yet.

Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, LynnCreed!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:LynnCreed/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! Tina δ 18:28, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Hoooold it.

Yes, I know currently the {{egg}} links to the egg group's category. As soon as all of the egg groups are done, I'll change it to point to the egg group's page instead. No need to change fifty million links and forget fifty million others. So make sure you make the pages on the egg groups that you make the same as those made so far. Alright, response is over on my talk because that's easier to get to and it's really hard to concentrate on a series of responses when they're on different pages.
And don't forget to sign all of your posts with four tildes (~~~~). TTEchidna 21:21, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Dude.

No offense, but this stuff should be on your userpage, not your talk page. And, you aren't allowed to delete talk page comments. AND, if you HAD put this all on your userpage, you would have gone over the edit limit. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 19:25, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

What's the edit limit, and why can't we delete? Doesn't keeping it for forever strain the servors? I'll move this stuff to my userpage tomorrow since I'm over the limit. --LynnCreed 19:36, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
The limit is three edits per day, and that only applies to the UserSpace. Since you put it all on the talk page, you have effectively 0 out of 3 edits for the day. And keeping it forever doesn't really strain it that much, editing about 6 times in a row strains it more, I think, which is why people are told to use the preview button. But, removing comments is just considered bad, and I personally would be insulted if someone tried to remove what I said. I removed a piece of text that was there for months about a problem that was already resolved. I'm sure TTEchidna doesn't mind that I deleted it since it no longer matters. - unsigned comment from LynnCreed (talkcontribs)
Policy still says you should never remove comments from a talk page, except when moving them to an archive. There's even a warning template for it. Your missing talk page comments have been restored for you. — Laoris (Blah) 19:53, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --PattyMan 01:06, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
