Welcome to Bulbapedia, LavaringX!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

 • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
 • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
 • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
 • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
 • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
 • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
 • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
 • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
 • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Link templates

Hi there! I noticed you used Minior on the Extraterrestrial Pokémon page. When you direct-link species like that, it sends readers to either a redirect or a disambiguation page, so this is highly discouraged. Instead, species should be linked like Minior, which automatically appends (Pokémon) to the end and therefore correctly sends people to the page Minior (Pokémon). You can read a longer explanation of link templates here and see a list of the most common ones on the wiki here. Thanks for your understanding! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:02, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Linking and the preview button

Hey there! Please note that when linking to pages, use and . The use of and is for calling a template. I suggest you take a look through Bulbapedia:Wikicode to get an understanding of the wikicode commonly used in articles.

Additionally, please use the preview button to make sure your edits will show the way you want them to. The preview button is right next to the save changes button. By using the preview button, you'll be able to have the page turn out the way you intend for it to in only one edit instead of having to save the page multiple times within minutes. Thanks! --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 01:45, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for the assistance, I appreciate it! --LavaringX (talk) 02:40, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for trying to take this into account! Now I have to point out, though, that you're using things like Minior. This sends readers to the nonexistent page "P" using the display text "Minior", which is not what you intended. Please, please use the preview button to ensure what you're doing has the intended effect, and ask someone before saving if you're having trouble.
To elucidate this specific instance (which is related to what I said in the above section) in more detail: Square brackets are for directly linking, while templates are (among many other uses) for shortcut-linking. Square brackets send you to exactly the page you input before the pipe (|), which is why Minior goes to the page "P".
Meanwhile, link templates are shortcuts designed to make it faster to type links. These are custom Bulbapedia templates and have specific uses here. For instance, anything is a template that displays "anything" while sending you to the page "anything (Pokémon)", so that you don't have to type out the word Pokémon. If you wanted to link to Minior's page while displaying the text "Minior", that's a situation where it's correct to use curly brackets, like this: Minior
I hope you understand the difference. You can find more complete explanations at the link Carmenstar provided above as well as here, and you can see a list of all our link templates here. Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 03:07, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

New sections on talk pages

Please keep in mind that new sections always go at the bottom of a talk page. I've noticed you frequently starting a section at the top or in the middle of a talk page. I hope you will read the talk page policy to familiarize yourself with how talk pages work. Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:49, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

Comments

Please do not delete comments. If you want to respond to it, place your comment at the bottom of the discussion. Thank you.--ForceFire 05:53, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

I did not delete anybody's comment. In fact, my comments were repeatedly deleted by other people. --LavaringX (talk) 07:06, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Yes, you did.--ForceFire 07:32, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
If I did, it was an accident. My apologies. --LavaringX (talk) 08:42, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

That Green/Leaf thing

On Talk:Green (game), you stated "Even in materials published since the release of Let's Go, merchandise and references that allude to the character from FR/LG are referred to under the name "Leaf"... while materials referring to the character from Let's Go refer to her as Green." Obviously, if true, this would completely solve the debate, but you failed to provide a source. If you can't provide one, then your claim means nothing. As a fellow member of the "two different characters" side of the argument, I'll probably need your help to settle this. bwburke94 (talk) 23:26, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

I was talking about the Kotobukiya figure again; in my opinion that should be enough to resolve this, but sorry that I don't have any smoking gun that people didn't already know about. --LavaringX (talk) 00:47, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Talk Page note

Just so you know one of the talk page rules is to not respond to comments that are not recent as the one you responded to was several years old. Other than that hope you have a nice time editing. -Tyler53841 (talk) 07:55, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
