BTW depending on the context and tone in which it's delivered, The use of "hopefully" suggests a desire for a certain outcome, but the phrase "we will never have to have this discussion again" implies a frustration or annoyance with the current situation or topic of discussion. The combination of hopefulness with the desire to avoid a repeat discussion can come across as passive-aggressive. I hope you take a note of that too.
