It's for leaving notes, like the following:

Naming pogeys, we now use macro tags.  To link to any Poke, it's <nowiki> {{p| (pokemon name) }}, so to link to Bulbasaur, it'd be {{p|Bulbasaur}} </nowiki> like ( {{p|Bulbasaur}} )so.  To link to moves, substitute an ''m'' for the ''p'', and to link to types, a ''t'' for the ''p''. [[User:Evkl|Evkl]] 05:31, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Ohhh! Okay that makes a lot of since. I suggest we do that for items too because that takes a long time to do.
