Welcome to Bulbapedia, Evacino!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Verifiability

I've noticed you added several <!--hidden notes--> saying you were unsure about information. Please note that you should not add information to Bulbapedia articles unless you are sure that it's true. Guessing about things just spreads misinformation and makes us less reliable. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 01:04, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your inquiry Pumpkinking0192! You are correct in that I have been using them often. On the Harmoknight page I used them as too hide rank scores that I don't personally know, but think would benefit the wiki page if someone else did and could then edit them in later. I believed this was justified, however if this is the wrong way to use them I apologize and will avoid to do so in the future.
Again, I also used one on the Valarie page as I was unsure about the weight of Valerie's clothes but wanted to put the information down. Unfortunately, the T.V. shows can be hard to gather information from as they cycle in a certain order and choose one of two different sets of facts on each Gym Leader.
I think the only other hidden note I used was in the Lillipup (and its evolutions) page. I realize this could, like you said, make the wiki potently less reliable and as such I accept this particular case as a mistake on my part. I am sure by the time you read this I would have made amends to those mistakes.
I would also like to thank you for correcting the mistake I made on Lookers page. I should have read the history beforehand! evacino (talk) 20:15, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Designers

I noticed that you've added a lot of information about Poké Designers lately. I must ask you for your source on every single one that you added. This is extremely important to make sure that this very concrete information is coming from a credible source. I would personally like to know where each came from, so feel free to link me to them here on your talk page. Please! MaverickNate 03:49, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

I have reason to believe that the sources you are using are unreliable, because there is no such person under any of the game credits (such as BW's staff) with the surname "Tagami". Though I would still like to have the links to verify anything that may have been posted. MaverickNate 04:01, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Maverick Nate! Here are some of the sources I used:
Various - most likely least reliable[1]
Atsuko Nishida[2], [3]
Reiko Tagami[4]
Hironobu Yoshida and Mana Ibe[5]
[6] - unsigned comment from Evacino (talkcontribs)

Link Templates

Just so you're aware for the future, Bulbapedia has a number of Link templates for use around the site when linking to certain pages. The most useful of these I'd suggest you familiarize yourself with are {{p}}, {{t}}, and {{m}}. As you can see how I used one here, replacing [[Happy Hour]] with {{m|Happy Hour}} changes the link to go directly to the move page ("Happy Hour (move)"), rather than the redirect ("Happy Hour"). These templates are all very easy to use, so I am letting you know for any future edits. Regards, Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 17:35,2/17/2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your post Schiffy! I was always a bit confused about what templates were - I presumed there were only used when making a new page for some reason! I have only recently been using Bulbapedia, as I mostly use my Wikia account to update other sites. I think they work slightly differently so it's something I have to get used too (that or I'm actually rubbish at both)! Again, thanks for explaining them so thoroughly and I will make sure to use them for reference in the furture. --evacino (talk) 17:41, 17 February 2014 (GMT)
