Welcome to Bulbapedia, Dark Nymphia!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! -- G50 04:25, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Voice actors

Please refer to the notability requirements as shown on Project VA. The voice actors that you've added did not meet the requirements. Thank you.--ForceFire 08:05, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

And I've also noticed that you changed some of them, please do not change voice actor information unless you have a source. Playing by ear or going by credits are not credible sources. To get a source, you have to contact a voice actor via email or social media (if they have any). Thank you.--ForceFire 08:07, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Again, voice actors are only notable if they meet the notability in the article I linked above. Do not make a new article without checking that first. Thank you.--ForceFire 03:50, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Just to make sure you understand, it's roles in Pokemon that make the voice actors notable, not [major] roles outside of the franchise.--ForceFire 03:55, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Please provide a source when listing the Japanese voice actors as well. --超龍Chao 04:38, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Soft block

Due to repeated offences, you have been lightly blocked for 12 hours with the ability to edit your talk page to explain yourself. As I've already stated above, voice actors must meet the requirements laid out in Project VA. Do not make a page or edit a redirect without checking the requirements first, and even if you want to create a page, make it in your userpage first. Also, please provide a source if you are going to add or change voice actors. I've already explained above how to get a source, by reaching out to a voice actor via social media (if they have any). Playing by ear or credits do not count. Thank you.--ForceFire 06:22, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Sorry. I'm new to this editing thing. I thought Mamiko Noto voicing Alice, Alicia, Cheryl (Generations), Tonio's Drifblim, and two minor characters was enough. I looked at the page for Kazuki Yao (Byron's Japanese voice actor) to reference how to model the Mamiko Noto page and he only voiced Byron in the anime, so I thought that if the voice actor had a major role plus some other minor roles they would be notable enough to have their own page. Also, when I reverted the edits for the voice actors of gym leaders (I now realize this is edit warring and I'm sorry) I put some websites that confirmed their voice actors in the summary box, so I thought that was okay. Now I somewhat get it. If I find something like an official source that confirms something, do I talk to the staff to ask if they can approve it? Dark Nymphia (talk) 09:22, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
Kazuki Yao meets the first criteria, as Byron is a recurring character and not a character of the day, that's why he gets an article. None of Noto's characters are main or recurring characters, nor does she meet the other two requirements. As for sourcing, unless the website is the voice actor's website/blog, the only valid way of confirming a role is to ask the voice actor directly via social media. If you manage to find a source, place the link in the edit summary when you make the edit.--ForceFire 09:47, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hello. I have noticed that you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently, and have made a total of 15 userspace edits today. Please do not edit the userspace any more, as the userspace policy limits the amount you can edit your userpage: No more than three edits per day (by UTC), and you must contribute to the mainspace more than you edit your user page(s). This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our servers. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal page(s). The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your user page(s). Thank you. --Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:27, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Friendly advice

As an experienced member of Bulbapedia, here's a bit of advice when it comes to creating pages for voice actor. If you think an actor is notable enough, run it past admin. If they don't think they're notable at present, it is worth creating a page on your userpage as a work in progress so that it may get mainspaced in the future.--BigDocFan (talk) 10:14, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
