Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Chungkingpun!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. You will have to register separately for it, as well. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Chungkingpun/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!--Shiningpikablu252 03:21, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm gonna have to thank you...

For being diligent with your work. Awesome job adding the new-style tables to the Pokémon articles for level-up learnsets. TTEchidna 03:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

And make sure you look out...

Hidden Power's power in-game isn't listed as "Varies", it's listed as "—". So for all moves that list it like that on their articles, please make sure to not just copy directly. TTEchidna 05:27, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey

I know this seems like a lot to ask for a relatively minor mistake, but... could you double-check that you're spelling the moves' names right when you redo the moveset? Several months ago, I went through the site and replaced every instance of U-Turn with U-turn, the proper spelling (U-Turn was a redirect). Just a moment ago, you made a link to U-Turn on Dustox's page, so I had to go and correct it. Check out my talk page for a list of moves I find are commonly misspelled, and double-check your work against that. If you don't want to do the extra work, I'll get around to fixing it eventually... but I'd like you to keep this in mind anyway. Thanks for all your hard work. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:54, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Another minor thing, but for Gen III Pokémon, use "4b" instead of "4" for their Gen IV movesets and "3a" instead of "3" for their Gen III movesets. That way you don't link to their never-gonna-exist Gen II movesets. TTEchidna 04:46, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Dude.

You're incredible. Gold star for you. TTEchidna 02:11, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Trade.

Do you have a shaymin, celebi, ho-oh, or mew?--Diamaster 07:27, 2 August 2008 (UTC) Do you still want to trade anything?--Diamaster 07:36, 2 August 2008 (UTC) So do you still want to trade pokemon?--Diamaster 14:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Um...

Either you're not human, or you have TTE family blood in you. Porygon-Z 05:18, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Dude

You've been editing your User Page alot.May i recommend the Preview button?DCM 01:42, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Wow.

You're truly dedicated. If we get this learnset thing done, it'll be mostly your doing. --ニョロトノ666 03:34, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

=D

Thanks soo much for all the learnsets.Your awesome.--Davidaipom 10:13, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Yo

Since you're good at updating moves to Platinum standard, can you update Peck? I'd do it myself but there are way too many Pokémon that learn it. Baby G 02:42, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

That's probably the reason why I don't see many people updating TMs...mind doing them? Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links08:26 5 Sep 2008

Awesome work

You're doing an awesome job at updating moves to Platinum standard, so I just wanted to stop by and say "good job"! Baby G 20:07, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I was about to say that first. Anyhow, thanks again. Hey, if you'd like to help out in anything else, go here. I seriously need people to start working on this... ht14 03:43, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Another request

Remember I asked you before to update Peck to the Platinum standard? Well, can you update Synthesis now? I'm requesting this for the same reason as before: Way too many Pokémon learn it for me to try to update it myself. If you can update it, I'd really appreciate it. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 02:22, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Iron Defense

Why did you remove those evolutions as being able to learn it? --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 20:39, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Superpower

Why do you keep adding Marill and Corphish as being able to learn it by breeding? I know that they can learn it through breeding, but they also learn it from the tutor. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 01:43, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

How do you do it?

Is there like a system that you use to update the moves? It seems like you do all of them, when it takes me three hours to do one. It's amazing.--RexRacer -talk 01:36, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

COuld you please do Rollout for Platinum?--RexRacer -talk 03:08, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Nope, it was for November, given in early December, much like how in early January we're giving away the December award. This guy, though, got it for all his work over the past... whole time he was here. TTEchidna 01:26, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Grammar

No offence, but can you try to use better grammar? Instead of "I became the player of Pokémon games as an accident, I buy the Yellow and the yellow color Game Boy Color in a game shop about 10 years ago", it would be "I became the player of Pokémon games as an accident, I bought the Yellow and the yellow colored Game Boy Color in a game shop about 10 years ago." Chocolate (Chat with Me) 02:41, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry....by grammer is not that's good.....but at least....thanks for pointing the grammer mistake.....--chungkingpun 02:44, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

That's alright. We are both Asian. :D We are both not native English speakers so don't be bothered by what he have told you. ^_^ --☆Kevzo8 13:44, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Project Games

Hi Chungkingpun! I noticed that you have been awarded the Golden Mew Award for outstanding service to the articles on the Pokémon games. I therefore request you to join the Project Games and lend us a helping hand in improving the articles on the games. Your help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.--Sher-e-Bengal- 10:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Chinese dub

Hi there. I've a question for you: could you tell me exactly which Chinese dialects the Pokemon anime is dubbed to? How many different versions are there in Chinese? --electAbuzzzz 00:24, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey Chung

Gonna need to ask... where'd you get information on Gravity being an MT move? TTEchidna 23:18, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Well. those information of move tutor compatible under Gravity is not added by myself, it add by someone else.I just add following them :P User:Chungkingpun01:45, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Ah. TTEchidna 08:39, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Pokéthlon

If you're going to help make sure to put in the Stats header with 3 headers at the top, and then put the other headers in with 4. That was something I had learn from watching one of TTEchidna's updates earlier.-Tyler53841 03:23, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Nice work and thanks for the help, but just remember to change the 3 header on the Base Stats to a 4 header since Stats will become the main section for both the Base and Pokéthlon section. Don't worry I fixed your mistakes though I'll be going out of action in a little bit. -Tyler53841 07:53, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Offer

Seeing that you just submitted the Move Tutor stuff for String Shot I'll be happy to help you cut down the workload abit. What would you say to that? -Tyler53841 04:40, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Well,if you like to help me, just do it. that's ok :p--Chungkingpun 04:4, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Check out Bulbasaur I successfully put in the data and previewed it and now that I copied it so I can quickly get the rest of the done, so take care of Gen. III and IV, I'll handle Gen. I and II so we don't get in the way of the other's work. -Tyler53841 04:50, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Done with my part, but if you have any other incomplete move tutor stuff you want to do I'll be around and I would like to help again if possible. -Tyler53841 05:13, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Thats all I can do tonight but I'm sure you can handle the rest of the job okay.-Tyler53841 07:27, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

THANKS a lot

For the Dream World thing. Much.--444Zekrom 10:04, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Gothita line and Dark Pulse

It seems that either the line above only learns Dark Pulse via breeding, but not via Move Tutor. Bulbapedia error/knowledge gap, or not legitimately possible? Since you are currently fixing the by Tutoring sections, and this has been bugging me since I looked at their new movepool, could you look in to it for a second? Thank you!--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... (talk) 08:34, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Bulbasaur

What exactly were you trying to change here? I've undone your edits as they expended the Breeding columns to the full page, an undesired result I am sure, but if you explain what you're trying to do I might be able to help. Also use Preview (next to the button to save changes) before saving an edit to make sure nothing strange will happen. CycloneGU (talk) 17:16, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I think I get it now. There's no Gen. VI template there like for moves. Got it, just saw your edit on the template section. =) CycloneGU (talk) 17:21, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello!

Nice to meet you. I saw you've been doing some edits to the move tutor sections of pokemon; I'm new here, so I was wondering if you could explain what these edits are doing? I'd like to be able to help, if possible. :) --FireGambit 16:43, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Well.....I just edit the Move Tutor part to ensured they are displaying the Gen VI move tutor list, not the Gen V. If you can help, just take a look at the pokemon move tutor part, if they are display the gen V list, then correct it to the Gen VI(most pokemon are not compatible with the Gen VI move tutor, except the starter, Dragon-type pokemon, and some specific pokemon.) , thx  :) --User:chungkingpun 18:44, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Alright, so update all the move tutors that say GenV to GenVI? Easy enough. Thanks! :) --FireGambit (talk) 18:54, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

How the.....

So, after some digging, I found out that apparently, around the time of the game's release, you ended up changing Klink's and Klang's Type Effectiveness tables to being Steel/Fairy, and no one noticed until today. I... I'm sure it was an accident or something, but.... wow. No one noticed. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 21:21, 4/13/2014 (UTC)

Oops, I even didn't notice about that, but anyway thanks for the fixing. (Talk 04:34, 4/14/2014 (UTC)

Gen 7 learnsets

Hi! If you are updating learnsets on move pages, please do not update the templates/rows for Pokemon you are not going to check, like Charmander through Druddigon here. If you are not going to check their breeding moves, do not change them. In that link, you should only have changed Wimpod. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:28, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Just reminding you of this again. You seem to have ignored this request in a number of recent edits, like this one. --SnorlaxMonster 11:50, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
I've given you a 1 day block for once again updating the template without filling in the rows. You were warned twice not to, and yet you've did it again. What you're doing is essentially adding false information to pages, because white blank cells mean the Pokémon cannot learn the move that way. --SnorlaxMonster 13:43, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

In a very similar vein, please do not update only parts of a Pokemon's moveset on species pages. If you're going to do one method, like leveling up, please take the time to do all of the methods. Tiddlywinks (talk) 15:12, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

A Question

I noticed that you started putting a SwSh tag on moves that Pokemon can only learn in gen 8 Sword and Shield and not in BDSP. So by this logic, shouldn't we add a SMUSUM on moves that Pokemon only learn in gen 7 in SM/USUM and not Let's Go?--Yaronos (talk) 13:14, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

I suppose....no? Since PE only have Generation I pokemon, it much like a......spin-off. Also the reason I add SwSh tag is: other user adding SwSh tag to SwSh exclusive moves(for example:Photon Geyser), seems they want to mention it's a SwSh move only --Chungkingpun (Chungkingpun) 14:29, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
