Hello and welcome to my userpage! I'm Zesty Cactus, a ninteen-year-old Pokémon fan from [[Pokémon in Canada|Canada]]. I've just recently graduated from high school and I'm currently working at an independent toy store (which has depressingly little Pokémon merch).

==A bit about me==
I was first introduced to Pokémon via the TCG, my very first card was a {{TCG|Water Energy}}. At the time, I only wanted cards so I could trade them with other kids (since that was the fad at the time) but gradually I learned more about the characters that appeared on the cards, and the rest was history. Shortly thereafter, I was given my own [[Game Boy Pocket]] and a copy of Pokémon Red Version (Allegedly, my mother went to the store and they were sold out of Game Boy Colors, so she got me the Pocket instead). Since then, I've played games from every single generation ([[Generation III]] is still my favourite). As for side games, I've basically played all of them (I even own [[Pokémon Project Studio Red and Blue]]!) but my favourites so far are the Pokémon Ranger series, Pokémon Card GB 1 & 2, PokéPark and PokéPark 2, and [[Pokémon Typing Adventure]] :)
 
I don't really follow the anime closely anymore (though I do catch it on TV once in a while and I keep buying all the DVDs), but I loooove Pokémon manga :). I collect all kinds of Pokémon manga not just for the wiki but also it's my hobby. ==What I edit==
I joined Bulbapedia on June 14, 2008 and my first edit was [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Singing_Pok%C3%A9mon_Encyclopedia&oldid=388178 creating the page] [[Singing Pokémon Encyclopedia]] on June 15, 2008. Most of my early edits were for Pokémon CDs until I gradually moved on to writing about merchandise, books, and Pokémon manga. Basically, I started off by writing about things I knew I had in my collection but were absent from the wiki.
 
Generally, most of my edits are for {{bp|Project Manga}}. I am perpetually working on adding manga chapters, appearances, volumes, especially the mangas that aren't Pokémon Adventures (since those ones are usually neglected by other users). I collect Pokémon merchandise, so I also add things to articles relating to {{bp|Project Merchandise}} from time to time. I'm also a member of {{bp|Project Globe}} and {{bp|Project Music}} since those are subjects that interest me as well.
 
I do try to lurk the [[Special:RecentChanges|recent changes]] every day, keeping track of the changes and new edits to the site. I was first promoted to {{bp|Junior Administrator}} rank in 2010 and have since been promoted to the {{bp|Leadership Board}}, so please [[User talk:Zesty Cactus|let me know]] if you need any assistance, or if you have any questions about Bulbapedia, Pokémon, manga pages or anything else! I promise not to be a jerk so you can ask me anything :)


I've been playing the Pokémon games since I recieved Pokémon Red Version in the late 1990s. While my favourite main series game is [[Pokémon Emerald Version]], I do dust off my fourth gen games every so often to keep up with the times. I read most of the Pokémon manga that's out there, my favourite being [[Pokémon Adventures]] (isn't it everyone's favourite?). I like the anime well enough, but I'm never home when it's on TV and I don't have enough time to watch it on DVD/internet, although I routinely waste money on the DVDs anyways. I actually hate shipping so much, not just for Pokémon but for all fandoms... I particularily dislike [[PokéShipping]] and [[RocketShipping]]. I do like to joke about [[DaddyShipping]] though because.... duuuuude.

I'm an avid collector of Pokémon merchandise. I'm not one of those creepy collectors who buys stuff and keeps it in dusty boxes, though - I collect all the crap I do because I just love Pokémon that much. The centrepieces of my collection are easily my international items - anything I brought back from Japan (I went to Japan with my high school last March), the Spanish stuff that {{u|Dany36}} gave me (she's from Mexico!), and some random French stuff I have lying around. I'm always adding stuff to [[Bulbapedia:Project Globe|Project Globe]] and "In other languages" sections: I find languages fascinating and I love learning about Pokémon in countries outside of my own. I'm currently trying to brush up my French to a usable level (Mon Français n'est pas bon) and I'd like to eventually pick up a third language like Spanish or German.
Apart from the wiki, my interests include listening to music, collecting records and VHS movies, playing other video games (like {{zw|The Legend of Zelda (Series)|The Legend of Zelda}}), reading manga (Pokémon- and non-Pokémon related), watching {{wp|The Simpsons}}, hanging out with friends, and the like.


I have a boyfriend, {{u|Dech Amim}}, who I met in high school and I love him very much. :') Although I've always loved the Pokémon games, it was with him that I rediscovered the fandom when we both started new games in [[Generation III|third gen]]. Other people I know that you may have seen around Bulbapedia are {{u|Thatguywiththecodes}}, my little brother (>_>) and {{u|Dany36}}, my bffl for life. ^^
