This differs from the standard storyline seasons in that in certain circumstances they do not coincide with a new opening theme, instead they are - with only a few exceptions, divided evenly into 52 episode blocks (or 48 episode blocks starting with ''[[Pokémon the Series: Black & White]]''). Some episodes were also reordered from the original Japanese episode sequence.

After [[The Pokémon Company International|TPCi]] took over dubbing of the series in 2006, seasons were cut short if they were at the end of a [[series]]. For instance [[Pokémon: Battle Frontier|season 9]] was 47 episodes instead of 52 to coincide with the end of ''[[Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire]]''. [[S10|Season 10]] was also one episode short, however it is unknown why this is the case.

Episodes are divided in this way for television sale and broadcast purposes both in the United States and internationally, as well as for international DVD releases - such as those in Australia. [[Pokémon.com]] also uses these divisions for their episode encyclopedia.

[[Banned episodes]] such as [[EP018]] and [[EP035]], as well as any other undubbed episodes (such as clip episodes) are not included on the list because they are not officially considered part of the dub seasons they would otherwise fall within.
