Zygarde made its debut appearance in the anime in ''[[SS035|Mega Evolution Special IV]]'' and ''[[XY094|From A to Z!]]'' in its 50%, Core, and 10% forms. It was being sought after by Team Flare, and appeared as two different Zygarde Cores, one red and another blue. A Red Zygarde Core was experimented on by Team Flare, but escaped with the help of Mairin's Chespin. It was discovered by {{an|Bonnie}} and spend a long time under Ash and co's care, being referred to as [[Squishy]]. When it faced Team Flare, it called in several Zygarde Cells, and became Zygarde 10%, defeating them with Land's Wrath. The other Zygarde was encountered in a cave in its 50% form, but defeated Team Flare using Land's Wrath. This Zygarde was known as [[Z2]]. Zygarde Complete Form first appear in ''[[XY098|Dream a Little Dream from Me!]]'' in Squishy's dream. Z2 was eventually captured by Team Flare, much to the dismay of Squishy. After the Pokémon League ended, [[Lysandre]] used Z2 to unleash havoc upon Lumiose City and all of Kalos in its 50% form. Squishy would confront Z2 and it eventually revealed its own 50% form, but was ultimately controlled by Team Flare. However, Bonnie helped Squishy snap out of the control until Clemont destroyed the machine that controlled Zygarde. Squishy confronted Z2, and along with Bonnie, managed to win Z2's trust despite the latter's distrust of humans. Eventually, Lysandre unleashed a Megalith Zygarde using the Mega Evolution energy he gathered, and it crawled to the Anistar City sundial. It wasn't stopped despite the best efforts of Ash, his friends, and the Gym Leaders of Kalos, which eventually led to Squishy and Z2 merging to become the Complete Zygarde. After the transformation, Zygarde briefly battled the Megalith, and ultimately destroyed it and Lysandre with {{m|Core Enforcer}}. The two Zygarde then left and thanked Bonnie and her friends for their help. Later on, in [[XY139]] they asked for the help of Ash's Greninja in destroying the roots that attacked all of Kalos, to which Greninja accepted. Currently, they are with Greninja in trying to clean up the remaining roots that had attacked Kalos during Team Flare's plans.
