| Hi! I'm diamondpearl876, or Kristin/Kris in real life. I'm 25 years old, I live in the middle of the forgotten state of Delaware with my pet cockatiel and leopard gecko, and I'm currently working toward my Master's degree in psychology. I got into Pokémon way back in gen 1, when an old childhood friend told me Yellow was the absolute worst game ever and literally threw the cartridge on the ground. I asked him if I could try it out myself, and so began my enduring obsession with the franchise.
When gen 2 came out, I was extremely lucky and didn't know it when I received a shiny Totodile as my starter. I thought the game had glitched and was scared to play it, so I restarted. Oh, and I had no idea how to do the Ecruteak City gym puzzle, so I just grinded my Espeon (nicknamed Espy) to level 100 before my mom finally bought me the Player's Guide for the game. I wasn't the brightest kid, but whatevs. I stuck with the series anyway.
I've owned games from each gen ever since, including side games (my favorites being Pokémon Stadium 1/2, Pokémon Colosseum, and R/S Pinball). I also still have all the Topps cards, Tomy figurines, little collectibles from Burger King and macaroni & cheese boxes I gathered up over the years. The username diamondpearl876 came about in gen 4 when I signed up on every forum imaginable to trade for shinies, and now, I've got a complete living shiny 'dex I plan to keep maintaining as new 'mons come out. I'm also an avid Pokémon fanfiction writer; I'm balancing three chaptered fics at the moment, and sometimes, I'll get in the mood for one-shots.
Writing's a huge hobby of mine, then, but I also enjoy bowling, listening to music (Andrew McMahon, Alkaline Trio, Rob Thomas...), playing video games (Ace Attorney, Legend of Zelda, Dragon Age, Hatoful Boyfriend, Crash Bandicoot...), watching anime (Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Samurai Champloo, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Toradora!...), reading (Mistborn series, Stormlight Archive series, Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE manga, Pokémon Adventures manga...), photography, and more.

| On Bulbapedia, I'm mostly trying to help out with Project Manga, as I've been meaning to catch up on Pokémon Adventures anyway and to check out other series. I can see myself editing stuff about the games as they come out as far as the characters and story goes, too. Anddd I'll be trying to put my writing skills to use by editing/revising articles that need it.
My main job, though, is Deputy Head Administrator on the Bulbagarden forums. I help with the day to day across the board, particularly in the Writer's Workshop, and I help with forum-wide issues, policies, and projects. You can also find me modding the #writing channel on the public Discord and contributing to the Bulbagarden Tumblr by sharing Pokémon-related posts, setting up fun and interactive posts for holidays and special occasions, and managing the submission system for fanworks created by fellow Pokémon fans.
