In the anime

Emergency Exit activated

Golisopod debuted in SM115, when Guzma sent it out to battle Ash and Pikachu. Golisopod battled well, managing to withstand Corkscrew Crash and even poisoning Pikachu. However, due to its Emergency Exit Ability, it abruptly returned to its Poké Ball, ending the match prematurely.

Personality and characteristics

Golisopod is a strong Pokémon, as seen in SM115, where it was able to withstand the Z-Move Corkscrew Crash and poison Ash's Pikachu.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga

Prior to the start of the series Guzma owned Golisopod as a Wimpod, who eventually evolved. Golisopod first appeared in The Announcement and the Prize with its Trainer at the Iki Town festival. During the tournament it battled against Sun's Cent. Golisopod started with a super-effective First Impression and proceeded to beat the Scratch Cat Pokémon up. During its attacks Sun attempted to protect Cent from an attack, but Golisopod continued the attack and breaks Sun's arm for getting in the way. Golisopod then goes back to Cent and slammed it into the ground. The battle seemed over, but Cent got back up enraged that the coin on its head got dirty due to Golisopod's claws being filthy from being a scavenger. It attacked furiously with its claws and defeated Golisopod with Pay Day, winning Sun the battle.

In PASM18, Golisopod was sent out to battle Gladion at Po Town to keep him from interfering with the Ultra Beasts. In the next chapter it was separated from its Trainer when he got dragged into an Ultra Wormhole.

Personality and characteristics

Golisopod is a powerful and brutal Pokémon, having no issue with beating up its opponents, whether they be a Pokémon or human. It is a natural scavenger and will eat anything it can find, even if the food is rotten. As a result its claws are always filthy.
