Pokémon always has and always will be my favourite game searies. At 3 years old I was given a Gameboy Color with Pokémon Yellow after showing much intrest in the early anime and my cousin's Red and Blue version.

Since then I have owned and played my own, Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Saphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold and Black versions and every game from the Ranger and Dungeons searies as well as Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, Collesium, XD, Channel, Snap, Dash, PBR and Poképark. I have watched every episode of the anime that has ever been dubbed into English and have just this year started watching them in Japaneass wich I happen to speak a bit of.

Of all Pokémon I favor Electric and Bug types, leaving my favourites as Lanturn and Yanmega.

Before gen IV I did not think much about how I played the game, usually training one Pokémon alone and struggleing a lot when I got to the Elite 4. Since Pokémon Diamond I have started thinking about moves, stats  and abilitys as well as training a full team of six going by a principle that if the highest leveled Pokémon is over 4 levels higher than my lowest leveled Pokémon, that Pokémon is battleing too much. Over the course of gen IV I adapted to these principles much better and by HeartGold have my best team ever.

When building a team I usually follow the same pattern {{Ash}} uses, a {{type2|Grass}}, a {{type2|Water}}, a {{type2|Fire}}, a {{type2|Flying}}, a Pokémon that can at least use an {{type2|Electric}} move and a wild card. I favor fast Pokémon overall so you'd rarely see a Pokémon with base speed less than 70 on my team, that Pokémon must also have at least 90 base attack od special attack, I don't care for defense. Finally, that Pokémon must have a base stat total of at least 470. Ledgendary Pokémon since my Platinum version have been banded from my in-game teams. 9 times out of 10 a Pokémon on my team will know a STAB move for each of it's types that are well balanced between Power and Accuracy, staying well clear of negative effects that for example {{m|Overheat}}, {{m|Hyper Beam}} and {{m|Volt Tackle}} have. My favorite moves to have on my team are those that cause Status ailments instantly; {{m|Hypnosis}} for sleep, {{m|Thunder Wave}} for paralysis, {{m|Will-O-Wisp}} for burn, {{m|Confuse Ray}} for confusion and {{m|Toxic}} for bad poison.
