Welcome to my page on BW {{tt|name predictions|of both English and Chinese}} for characters and places. But, I have no plans on predicting Pokémon names, they're usually {{tt|unpredictable|except for the names of legendaries that is...}}, especially the Chinese ones. This is essentially just a rip-off of [[User:Kenji-girl/U.S._name_predictions|Kenji-girl]]'s and [[User:Maxim/BW_English_Name_Predictions|Maxim]]'s idea. But to be more original, I decided to predict place names, and (again) Chinese names{{tt|*|The names of people are usually predictable. On the other hand, the places aren't as quite.}}, though I have no plans of predicting [[COTD|CotD]] names (except for Don George's). For the convenience of those who can't read, (most of the) Chinese names will be provided with {{wp|pinyin}} which are conveniently located in the {{tt|tt template|which I have overused in this page}}.

Besides similar to "{{tt|elder|or older}}" (and Adeku), the word alder and ''Alnus'' (Latin name) are derived from the Proto-Indo-European root ''el-'' ("red" or "brown"). The leaves of said tree are also food to several species of butterflies and moths (such as {{wp|Lepidoptera}}). In addition, there's also a tree called "{{wp|Alnus rubra|red alder}}". Lastly, there's also a type of moth called {{wp|Acronicta alni|alder moth}}. Now, that's subtle. Why couldn't they have named gym leaders like that? (stares at "Burgh" and "Elesa"<!--, >_<-->)
