A Tuber (Japanese: うきわボーイ Inner Tube Boy and うきわガール Inner Tube Girl) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that debuted in the Generation III games. They are young children in inner tubes that are learning to swim. They come in male and female versions. They appear to be younger versions of Swimmers. The prize money for defeating them is generally low.

When male Tubers are paired with female Swimmers in Double Battles, they are called Sis & Bros.

They generally use a combination of Water-type and Normal-type Pokémon—particularly Marill, Zigzagoon, and their related forms.

Emerald arc

In Pinsir Me, I Must Be Dreaming, Emerald faces a virtual female Tuber at the Battle Factory. She also appears in a flashback in Verily Vanquishing Vileplume I.

Diamond & Pearl arc

In Magnificent Meditite & Really Riolu I, a Tuber makes a cameo while the main characters visit Veilstone City. His friend was supposed to challenge Maylene but she mixed the Tuber and his friends with the three main characters, due to the main characters possessing an item that made landing attacks easier she had heard the kids talking about.

The Tuber and his friend appeared briefly in Stunning Staravia & Stinky Skuntank II, noticing the impact from the cannon.

In Double Trouble with Dialga and Palkia V, the Tuber and his friends were teleported to the Jubilife Grand Hotel due to the distortion of time and space.

Platinum arc

The Tuber from Magnificent Meditite & Really Riolu I is seen again together with his friends, entering the Battle Frontier in Deprogramming Porygon-Z.

• In FireRed and LeafGreen, there are no male Tubers, and the male version of the Trainer class is not even programmed into the games, despite there being a Sis and Bro Trainer class (which is a female Swimmer paired with a male Tuber).
• In the Generation IV Battle Frontier, male Tubers use the Ninja Boy overworld sprite, while female Tubers use the Twins overworld sprite.
