The thief first appeared in ''[[GDZ47|Run Out the Thieves!]]'' as a picture on a wanted sign [[Shu]] and {{TP|Shu|Pikachu}} were looking at. Her Pokémon kidnap Shu and tie him up while Pikachu gets locked in a cage. Shu sends out his {{p|Wooper}} but the thief's {{p|Sneasel}} and {{p|Houndoom}} get the best of it with {{m|Blizzard}} and {{m|Flamethrower}}. Their attacks caused Wooper to bounce off to a cage. Shu provoked the thief and she had her Sneasel and Houndoom attack but it was something that Shu actually planned as Wooper used {{m|Double Team}} before their attacks connected. With Pikachu freed, Pikachu and Wooper incapicate the thief with a combination of {{m|Thunder}} and {{m|Water Gun}} aimed at the sky. The thief and her Pokémon get defeated but the thief ran off with an item she just took from Shu.
