The Pokémon Wiki, formerly known as The Pokémon Encyclopedia, is a Pokémon-centered wiki hosted on the for-profit website Wikia.
History
The Pokémon Wiki was created in January 2005 by Jellochuu, who is no longer an active member of the wiki. The wiki's current bureaucrat is Slayingthehalcyon, who stayed when the wikis forked.
Over the course of its history, the wiki has gone through a number of logo changes and a name change. It currently has over 5,000 articles on various aspects of the Pokémon franchise.
After a bit of discussion, the Pokémon Wiki officially split from Wikia to create a new wiki under Marriland servers. This fork lead to another Pokémon-centered wiki being formed. With the new wiki, users decided to either stay or move, while some of the administrators are editing both wikis for the time being.
