Minor Update

Should the "." be removed from the template? The code:

{{incomplete|needs=stuff.}}

Does:

You could just not put the period in the coding for the template. put {{incomplete|needs=stuff}}. MaverickNate 19:59, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Then explain Template:Bad picture. --Wildgoosespeeder 20:03, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Put a period in that coding. or don't write sentences. Not a full sentence, no need for punctuation. A period isn't an important part to what the template is saying. it shouldn't be this big of a deal. MaverickNate 20:15, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Inconsistency annoys me to such great lengths. Haha. I thought if I mention it, it would be quickly addressed and we move on. Didn't expect this. --Wildgoosespeeder 20:28, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
It's on a template that shouldn't be on pages anyway. Want the problem gone? fill in the incomplete information. Problem solved. Removing it would cause a waterfall of other inconsistencies. And editing a template used on so many pages would cause unneeded stress. At a time with so many 503's, that would not be a good idea. MaverickNate 20:36, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm confused. All I'm asking is to remove one byte of information on the template itself! I don't think errors would arise just because of a very minor change. As for the 503 error, I've been getting that too lately but I don't think that is the wiki but rather just the host this wiki is on. --Wildgoosespeeder 20:58, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
When you make an edit to a template used on over 1500 pages, the wiki has to go around and update those 1500+ pages. The incomplete template is used on about 1800 pages. An action such as that can cause more 503 errors than are currently happening. It's too much unneeded stress to simply remove a period, when the period in the template does not matter one way or the other. MaverickNate 21:04, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I find that hard to believe. I don't know how to explain it better than it will be fine. I don't know any PHP or how MediaWiki works but something is telling me as a coder that the site will continue working normally right after the edit is placed. The template is only accessed when the page that contains the call is loaded. Yes, I know what Error 503 is. Plus Error 503 is temporary and usually voluntary so what is the problem again? --Wildgoosespeeder 21:25, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
The period should be removed. All these arguments about server overloading aren't that valid when there are far more significant factors and variables to trigger that. SatoMew 09:32, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Better categorization

Can this template be made more like {{stub}} and put pages into categories based on whether the article is from the games, anime, etc.? That would make it a lot easier to find thing that you could work on based on what you have experience in. --Abcboy (talk) 16:21, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
