Gallery

I have all of the "Who's That Pokemon?" stills from season one if the wiki feels they could benefit from having a gallery I'd gladly upload them here. - unsigned comment from DiagonalDog (talkcontribs)

That would be cool! How many of them are there? --Nathan2055talk 20:02, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Trivia worthy?

Is it worth noting in the trivia section of the article that the first two Pokémon featured in "Who's That Pokémon?" in the first two episodes of Pokémon: Black and White are the first two Pokémon Ash caught in his journey through Unova (Pidove and Oshawott) in the order that he caught them in? It will be interesting to see if this pattern holds. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 19:20, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

I think it's just a coincidence, wait for the 3rd episode. If *spoiler* is the next one instead of Sandile, then I think we can add it. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 23:12, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
It's not really that big of a deal because they show a Pokémon that is featured prominently in the next episode, and in this case, it was two Pokémon Ash catches. --HoennMaster 23:34, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

RAGE

Cartoon Network did not run Who's That Pokemon for the third episode. Perhaps this was in response to the Zoroark movie? In any case, I'm adding the fact that there's no WTP for the third episode. PoketoaTheFirefox 17:37, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

It's already Added on the BW003 Page. There's really no need for it here. --Pokemaster97 17:38, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Im also really mad they cut it. And Im positive there was one, why would PUSA bring it in for 2 eps, then not use it? And it just happens to be after the Zorark movie.... I knew Cartoon Network screwed things up before, but this.....Even Kid's WB wouldn't do that.... - unsigned comment from LD1808 (talkcontribs)

People are blowing this out of proportion. I doubt they did it on pourpose. If they did it for the first two the would all of a sudden pull it for the third. There's obviously more to this story that we do not know. --Pokemaster97 23:05, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Exactly and until there is official word on it, we should discuss this elsewhere other than this talk page. This area is for discussions relating to article improvements. - Vhayes1992 23:13, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
It returned for the fourth episode, but they've started airing the Pokémon important to that episode, not the next one. --Nathan2055talk 22:41, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Who's That Pokémon? in the netherlands

WTP is also in the Dutch dub, but the strange thing of this WTP is that they do show the silhouette of the mon, but don't give the answer. I have no idea why did this. But it happened in all three episodes they aired yesterday (february 25th). Should this be noted in the trivia section? Alexjuuhh 15:02, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Listing

Whether on this page, or a separate page like the anime episodes themselves are, I think we should list what each "Who's That Pokémon?" is in each episode, with both the English dub and Japanese WTP. Since this article is quite short to begin with, I think it doesn't need a separate page, but I don't really care either way. --SnorlaxMonster 11:25, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

I'd be fine with a list (honestly I thought we already had one....but oh well). I'll help however I can. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 11:40, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Jessie

How come this sight dos not have a photo of Jessie in who's that Pokémon?- unsigned comment from Random Chaos (talkcontribs)

I just spent about an hour searching for a screen cap, or the japanese version of that episode so I could take one, but it seems there isn't one. So...if anyone reading this has access to the original episode, could you please upload a screen cap to this page? Thanks. --LimeGreenCharizard-- 07:17, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Something to add later

  • No Pokémon from a future Generation have appeared in Who's That Pokémon?. This is especially notable with Togepi, which did not appear in a Who's That Pokémon? until EP273, 223 episodes after its debut in EP050, and Marill, which first appeared in Who's That Pokémon? in EP131, 44 episodes after its debut in EP087. Kecleon also did not appear in the Who's That Pokémon? of EP025, despite it being the only Pokémon feautred in the episode, with the Pokémon instead being Pineco.

Also, the list from the first Johto episodes seem to be messed up, Blissey should be next to EP129, not EP128, etc. Vuvuzela2010 02:51, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Trivia to add

  • When Boomerang began airing Pokémon episodes from the original series in March 2010, the Who's That Pokémon? segment was slightly altered. The segment was combined into one long segment, instead of being split in half by a commercial break. The episode would have the segment appear just after one scene of the show, and would be directly followed by another.

--LimeGreenCharizard-- 05:28, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

TV stations tend to move the commercial breaks from their intended places. Also, Toasted TV remove the WTP from BW episodes altogether (they do in fact cut a small part of each episodes when they go to the commercial break as well, and I guess WTP is part of the part that they cut out). --SnorlaxMonster 00:19, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

A thought.

I don't think we should have the images for the sixth season unless we upload all of the English images, which I don't think is necessary; just in case anyone was planning it. As it was previously pointed out, All of the English ones are generic art that has been seen a million times. I think the English images from Black & White onward is a good idea. --LimeGreenCharizard-- 04:05, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Don't you think it would look strange though having every other season with the Who's That Pokémon picture, but having Pokémon Advanced without any pictures? I agree that the English is generic art, but it looks odd having pictures of just the Japanese version and not the English version. This does warrant more discussion, though. --PAK Man Talk 16:41, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Expandable Tables

I really don't think this is necessary. Because of the contents, we can just skip to the desired section. I think the page looks exponentially better without them. Just my opinion. --LimeGreenCharizard-- 02:42, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, there really is no point to making them expandable. There isn't any content below them, so what point in making them expandable? They are the main content of the page besides the intro. --SnorlaxMonster 06:05, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Another Thought

Since we have a Glass Onix MS sprite laying around, shouldn't we use that instead of the reagular Onix MS? Truthseeker4449 14:27, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

I've uploaded an un-animated version and changed the Onix sprite here, and I've already changed Red Gyarados sprite. I'll have a look incase there are others that need changing. Vuvuzela2010 Δ 14:36, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! Truthseeker4449 14:44, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
I'd say that both changes are the only one that needed to be changed as they are the only ones with a significant difference.--ForceFire 15:02, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

English Images?

Should there be images for the English version of Who's that Pokemon along with the Japanese images (namely the Original Series)? --Lady Ariel 00:49, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

The reason it was decided to have images from the Japanese version and not the English dub is that the Japanese version uses exclusive artwork, whereas the dub just uses standard art. --SnorlaxMonster 09:57, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
What are you talking about, Snorlax? We are going to get images of both languages *points to Black & White*. I just wanted to get the Japanese done first. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 12:50, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
I should be able to get the English Pokemon Master Quest, since I have that whole season on DVD. If you still need those images I should be able to obtain them for you. --Lady Ariel 21:43, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Master Quest would be lovely honestly. I've only got the first half of the Indigo League and then scattered episodes here and there from those special boxset things. The files should be .png and follow the same format the others use, like Pidove here. WTP <epicode>.png If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me or Adyniz, or Kogoro if it has to do with the archives in general. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 21:55, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Order

On episode pages, Why in the text is the English version first when the Japanese, which really should be first, is first with the screenshots? I smell inconsistency!--SandmanDP 23:36, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I think it's because we're an english wiki so naturally the English counterparts are listed first. This is simmilar to how our articles list the English title first in bold, then the respective Japanese title following it. --Pokemaster97 23:43, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
But you're missing my point. What titles? This is abut the Pokemon listing. This is on the episode pages, where the screenshots are JJapanese-English, while the WTP listing is English-Japanese--SandmanDP 23:45, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
While I agree that the Japanese episodes should be listed first, (for the OS anyway), what about the Best Wishes series? The English dub had the WTP first, that Japanese only started doing it about 60 episodes in. XVuvuzela2010X 23:48, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
We still have like three months to decide on that, right? 12 episodes equal about 12 weeks, and 4 weeks in a month, etc. We should wait until then--SandmanDP 23:50, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
But why wait and create more work for ourselves later? I think that a final format needs to be decided soon so we don't stretch out the issue. --Pokemaster97 23:52, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
That's very true. I'd be more than willing to switch them around personally--SandmanDP 23:54, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I think if you are willing to change them all, then go for it. I was just concerned because you only changed one and not the others. --Pokemaster97 02:16, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
You'll notice I split them into "Dare Da?" and "Who's That Pokémon, or if they're sharing the species, I separate them by backslash. This may seem a little odd at first, but keep the banned episodes in mind, where there is no "Who's That Pokémon?" but there is still "Dare da?"--SandmanDP 22:01, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
