Wait a minute...

If Vulpix are supposed to be born with only one tail, then how come the one that hatched from the egg in the episode when they leave the pokémon egg farm after saving it from Team Rocket had the standard six tales? Another thing, according to some pokédex entries Vulpix are supposed to get more tales as they grow older. If this is true, How come all the Vulpix you meet in games only have six tails? Because Pokémon forgets its own stuff too often? Why is there a baby Khangaskhan in the pouch from the time they hatch in the games? What about the Beldum and Metang combining to evolve? Cubone's mother dieing? It just gives the Pokémon some interesting stuff. Not quite cannon, because they're to lazy (Possibly) but it is fun. Something interesting to note

Am I the only one who's noticed? Up until Generation V, the location where Vulpix have been found has always been near a location associated with dead Pokémon; Route 8 in Kanto is near Lavender Town, where Pokémon Tower can be found; Routes 36 and 37 in Johto are near Ecruteak City, home of the Burned Tower; Mt Pyre is, itself, the Pokémon burial ground in Hoenn; and Sinnoh's Route 209 is the location of the Lost Tower. Pokemon Mansion and Route 48 don't appear to be graveyards. Unless you want to count the fact the Mewtwo may have killed a few professors during the incident at the mansion. But other than that, I don't particularly find it notable.--ForceFire 03:43, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
The fact this "trend" was broken in Gen V is also reason not to note it. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 07:40, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
...Eh. Just something I find interesting, myself. RuBoo, THE DESPISED 16:47, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Generation VI Learnset

Hey, I just want you all to know that I'm working on putting together Vulpix's learnset for Generation VI. I've already got the TM List and I'll get the level-up moves when I can. Superbreeder 21:08, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Generation VI Egg Moves

Vulpix appears to have Extrasensory as an egg move. --Ragamander (talk) 05:29, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Name Origin

Surprised not to see it here, but I'd always taken it as a given that Vulpix's name is also derived from Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and the origin of the word volcano. Sids1188 (talk) 08:22, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Alolan Vulpix Location

I'm not good with editing templates, can someone also put Tapu Village for Sun as a location? It and Sandshrew are technically counterparts and on Tapu Village's page it's there in the encounter table.

Plus a friend of mine was searching for it and found it there in Sun. Pinkolol16 (talk) 11:03, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
