Non-damaging moves

Are these negated (i.e. Thunder Wave never causes Paralysis), and would these also heal the pokémon? Or is it only moves that cause damage that have their damage negated? ~ Serial Colour 00:16, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Generation VI effect

I'm currently running experiments with Ion Deluge in Pokemon Y and noticed something peculiar: A Lv.10 Pancham using Tackle normally does only 2 points damage to my Lv.60 Lanturn (with her 225 HP), but if Ion Deluge is in effect, Lanturn gets an approximate 25% HP recovery regardless of the damage dealt. (I also noted Ion Deluge affects Normal-type status moves too.) In the case of a horde battle against five Lv.5 Gulpin (who only know Pound), this caused Lanturn recovered all of her HP in a single turn. :) --Stratelier 19:24, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Isn't that how Volt Absorb has always worked?--Den Zen 19:34, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
Apparently you're right, I just never noticed it in-game until now. It still means Ion Deluge makes a lovely combo with Volt Absorb (or Lightningrod) because it enables you to block Normal-type status moves, of which there are a ton. --Stratelier 19:37, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
