Template

The template for tutoring is messed up... ht14 00:33, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

For Togepi and a whole slew of others. We're in the process of fixing it. --PAK Man Talk 00:39, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Coincidences

No, trivia is not for coincidences. Trivia is for information. If Trivia was for coincidences, I could write that Azumarill learns Water Gun at level 10, and the Pokémon after the next Pokémon to learn Water Gun is 10 numbers higher in the national dex. That's true. It's also a coincidence. Random coincidences don't belong. -- evkl (need to talk?) 03:20, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

um,,,

i clicked on the edit thing and I saw that u ppl had put the HeartGold and SoulSilver area thing there. Y doesn't it show? shouldn't sumone fix that?--Darknesslover5000 03:04, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure its set for invisible until HGSS is released...--PsychicRider 03:09, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Togepi's Picture

Why is Misty's Togepi blocking its anime Pokédex info?I tried changing its place but it is always blocking it. Can someone please change it? Kingofun 14:17, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

I dont think it is possible unless someone adds some bulky text to fill up the space and push the Pokedex info away from the picture. Blake Talk·Edits 15:12, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Edit Request

Small edit request in the anime Pokedex entries, can you change it from ' energy disappears, leaving Togepi exhausted' to 'energy quickly disappears, leaving Togepi exhausted'. PLease and thank you. Littlmiget123 18:04, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Question About its Ability?

In Soulsilver, I evolved my Togepi into Togetic. Its ability is Serene Grace but when it evolves into Togetic, its ability is now Hustle. Why? User:BAC510 19:40, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Are you sure? It isn't supposed to do that. Breed another one, see if you were remembering wrong. TTEchidna 19:51, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, it changes to Hustle. It is the Togepi I got from Professor Elm. User:BAC510 20:49 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Maybe it´s supposed to change. I don´t know if this is too obvious to mention, but Slakoth´s ability is Truant. However, when it evolves into Vigoroth, it changes ability to Vital Spirit. When it evolves again, into Slaking, it changes ability back to Truant. Maybe there´s a similar reason? --sHoggard - rookie Pokéwiz 19:01, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
That's because Slakoth can only have Truant, and Vigoroth can only have Vital Spirit. On the other hand, Both Togepi and Togetic can have both Hustle and Serene Grace, so it can't be the same thing here. The only thing I can think of is that Togepi can have Hustle and Serence Grace, while Togetic can have Serene Grace and Hustle (or vice versa), so when the personality value is used to pick the ability, it is different in the Togepi and Togetic stages. Werdnae (talk) 20:05, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I guess its worth of testing - if it is so, it should be mentioned in trivia. --TakeruDavis[1] 06:28, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Update: I googled a bit and found this : Pokemon may change ability. There are two opinions. One says pokemon migrated from GBA may change ability. Second opinion says same, but in Togepi case it happens always. You however got him from Prof. Elm, but maybe it works similarly... --TakeruDavis[1] 06:44, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

List

is there any list or category which would include pokemons who appeared before their generation region occured in anime? [togepi, marill, lugia...........] --TakeruDavis[1] 11:37, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Sort of. We have a List of Pokémon by anime debut page, so you could look there. It's a bit less obvious for the gen II Pokémon. Johto started in the anime at EP117. Werdnae (talk) 20:15, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Should this be mentioned?

Should it be mentioned that Togepi's first appearance was in a Picross game for the SNES? Released 10 months before Pokémon Gold and Silver came out in Japan? Ugoz 22:04, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I think this should be mentioned. But where? --sHoggard - rookie Pokéwiz 18:57, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Symmetry?

"Togepi's eggshell is perfectly symmetrical, with the exception of the red and blue markings."...so it's not symmetrical then? Poliwhirl is symmetrical, with the exception of the swirl.

Egg Move

Just curious but when I got my Togepi after buying Heartgold one of the moves it knew upon hatching was extrasensory. Did any one else get this without breeding or was I just lucky? Frozen Fennec 23:32, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Romanization?

Why is the name romanized to "Togepy"? Shouldn't it be "Togepi"? I'm pretty sure Ys only occur between two consonant syllables, like "nya" or ones followed by another vowel, like "yu". '''metalmallow''' 11:05, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Because that is the romanization trademarked by the Pokémon Company. —darklordtrom 11:23, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

breeding

the breeding moves are messed up its a bunch of random words - unsigned comment from King of cyndaquil (talkcontribs)

It's fixed now. --SnorlaxMonster 12:38, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Something I noticed

Has anyone else noticed its in the jhoto dex despite being " something that has never been in jhoto" ---- - unsigned comment from King of cyndaquil (talkcontribs)

I was playing my soul silver last night, and i had my togepi walking with me through the Cerulean City gym and i talked to it and it showed me a upset shaking face and the game said, TOGEPI sundenly started crying softly! Could this be a possible refrence to the anime and misty having a togepi? Togepi Name Origin Toga?

I thought (even as a child) the Toge in Togepi was a reference to a Toga. Ie: Togepi wears it's Eggshell like a Toga. - unsigned comment from Yamitora1 (talkcontribs)

Toge means "spike", I don't see much of a toga in that egg. Ataro 17:56, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Sugimori Art?

Just wondering if there's any particular reason why Togepi got new Sugimori art for FRLG even though it's a Johto Pokemon, and similarly, why it didn't get new art for HGSS? Are there any other Pokemon like this? Magentafeelings (talk) 21:54, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

For the first question, I doubt anyone knows the reason for that. For the second, yes. I know HootHoot had FRLG art, but not HGSS art. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 22:47, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Question on Name

Why is it that Togepi's Japanese name here is Togepy when it should be* Togepī?

Nvm. Looked over comments and found the answer. :p SirFinkleBottom 04:26, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

Poison Spikes

Under Biology, it is stated that "Togepi is able to release poison from the spikes on its head." However I personally have not seen a dex entry where this is stated. I understand if this was in some spin off/side game, but I would like to know where this information was gathered. Ninbrine 03:06, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
