Purotoga looks like a generation II unreleased Pokémon...?

Did anyone notice Purotoga looks somewhat like the unnamed turtle in Unreleased Pokémon and characters? The colours on the heads are exactly the same. Shall we write about it in the trivia? (Sorry for the lame english :/) Auralyta 12:23, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so. The two look extremely different; and a blue/dark blue color scheme on the heads isn't really enough to go by. --AndyPKMN 13:03, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Either way, it's speculation, so no. -Sketch 13:10, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
The heads look similar, so perhaps it was based on the scrapped one. The doctor9 08:09, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Uncaught turtle

It may be worth noting that Tirtouga is the only turtle - based Pokemon that Ash has not yet caught.

Golem is also somewhat turtle. And Ash doesn't have Wartortle/Blastoise.--Den Zen 13:52, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Name origin

Could there be some sort of reference to Tortuga, a former pirate stronghold? ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 06:01, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

More proof about the Tortuga reference: Its name in both Spanish and French means "Turtle Island" or "Tortoise Island". ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 15:38, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Tears

Maybe we should mention the lighter blue markings on Tirtouga's face that make it look like it's crying, it seems like a definite reference to sea turtles "crying" when they lay eggs. I think that would be a valuable piece of trivia. (O++O) Dralcax (talk) 02:44, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

That does not look like tears at all...--ForceFire 02:47, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
Also, it would make more sense for that to be on the fully-evolved Pokémon. --SnorlaxMonster 02:51, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Well, then why would there be random light blue under the eyes then? In my opinion, they look a bit like tears running down Tirtouga's face. Also, Carracosta does have facial protrusions that sag down from its eyes, and has the same shade of light blue around its eyes. That color is more of a watery blue and doesn't match anywhere else, so I think they're tears. (O++O) Dralcax (talk) 03:00, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
