If it were based on 4 or more separate games, then maybe. However, this is two sets of games and their remakes we're talking about. Remakes tend to keep Trainer names of the originals. ^ht14 19:11, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Connection to the "School Boy"-trainer class.

According to this translation of an interview with staff of GAME FREAK, there is a connection between the two trainer classes stated. Since the site is linked on other articles (i believe it was the prototype Pokémon one), i think they are trustworthy and because this comes directly from the developers, it should be considered official.
