Crystal Onix

Would anyone object to my adding a note about the Crystal Onix that appeared in the anime and its possible influence on Steelix? Drake Clawfang 20:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

By the time that episode aired, Steelix was likely already developed. Heck, I think it was known of. I know that I knew about it since I was crushed when I traded away my Onix for the 1999 TRU event Mew. TTEchidna GSDS! 23:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps, but the two share a variety of similarities, and one likely had some impact on the design of the other. Drake Clawfang 00:34, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Second Longest Since Generation II

In the trivia section, it says that Steelix has been the second longest pokemon since its introduction in Generation II, but in Generation II it was THE longest. Shouldn't a note be made that it didn't become second longest until Generation III, when Wailord first showed up? - Buddy Christ

Exactly, if you want to edit, go for it. If you do anything wrong, I or somebody else will fix it for you, this is after all a public encyclopedia. TheBlazikenMaster 17:58, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Type

Is Steelix the only, or one of only few, who lose a type when they evolve? And if so, coould this go in Trivia?  LEVEL X Talk to me! 11:24, 14 June 2009 (UTC) It changes from Rock to Steel. Of course a Pokemon is going to change types upon evolution. There is no need to mention it. Besides, it's quite obvious when looking at Onix compared to Steelix. So it's redundant. -Sketch 11:29, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

It does not lose a type, its Rock type changes to Steel. It's not notable, this happens with other Pokémon (such as Tyranitar's Ground -> Dark). Bellossom, on the contrary, does lose a type, and that is already mentioned in its trivia section. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 11:31, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Start Moves

I am a little confused on how Steelix has 7 start moves while Onix starts with 4. How can someone get a Steelix that knows Fire Fang, Ice Fang, and Thunder Fang if one has to first trade an Onix holding Metal Coat for it to become Steelix and even if it is a lv. 1 Onix it would already know its 4 Starting moves. Does Steelix learn Fire Fang, Ice Fang, and Thunder Fang when it is traded as an Onix and evolves? Could someone please explain this to me. Thank you. --PikaPower! 02:15, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

That's just what the guides say. Also, one could get those moves were they to use a move relearner. That answer your question? Poisson14 02:29, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

I guess so. Thanks. --PikaPower! 18:09, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Artwork

The artwork for Steelix shown in the article isn't from Gold and Silver, it is from their remakes. Here is the original: [1] Here is the HGSS one: [2] Someone change that if they can, I tried three times, but I couldn't. - unsigned comment from Pokeman1000 (talkcontribs)

How's this? Bluesun 21:42, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
