My many issues with a specific trivia.

I would love to tell you my problems with this trivia in an edit summary, but it would be too long, so I'm explaining it here.

This is what the trivia I trimmed down originally said:

  • In Emerald, Sidney's Sharpedo is replaced by a Crawdaunt. This is the only change to an Elite Four member's team in any generation that cannot be explained by increased availability between versions, generations or Pokédex completion, or by increasing difficulty in response to the player's increased completion of the game. Drake, another Elite Four member, replaced one of his Flygon with a Kingdra in Emerald, but this could be explained by Horsea's slightly increased availability within Emerald, or by the release of FireRed and LeafGreen.

Ok, first of all, (like I have said in a previous edit summary) Horsea is available the exact same way it is available in R/S. That hasn't changed at all. So that information is just wrong.

Another thing this trivia claims is that it's the only change to an elite four member that cannot be explained by increased availability between versions, generations or Pokédex completion, or by increasing difficulty in response to the player's increased completion of the game. That's also incorrect. Many Pokémon such as Tropius and Wailord weren't owned by any trainer in R/S, and therefore couldn't be seen in the game unless you found them in the wild or evolved them. They can be seen by trainers in the Emerald version. So yes, it can be explained by an increase of an increase of difficulty.

And then it claims that Drake replaced his Kingdra because of the release of Fr/Lg. I see that as just a coincidence. Horsea has always been available in the game, it's just that in Emerald more Pokémon can be seen since more Pokémon are owned by trainers.

Another thing about this availability thing, unlike platinum and Black 2 and White 2, the national dex in Emerald was not extended. The Pokémon in that national dex are the same as with R/S. The only difference is that like I said more Pokémon were owned by trainers. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 17:46, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Furthermore, even if the reason for Drake's Kingdra being because of firered and leafgreen was true, it would belong to Drake's page, not Sidney's. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 17:51, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
I never got the point of that trivia, anyway. Also, you misnamed Pokédex mode, as you cannot expand National Pokédex without creating new Pokémon, which so far happened only at the start of each Generation, not in middle of it. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 20:21, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, you're right, I should have called them regional pokédex, sorry about that. I thought of each region as a nation, that's why I got it mixed up. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 20:29, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

New artwork

I found Sidney's new artwork from OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire on the official Pokémon website. Here it is.

Champion status

Right, so, Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia and Drake all currently appear in Category:Champions. Is this just a mistake, or is it some aspect of a weird canon that I'm not aware of? Dannyboy601 (talk) 00:19, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Definitely seems like a mistake due to oversight. TehPerson (talk) 00:40, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
