Feather vs Wing
The japanese name of the move is "Haneyasume," translated here as "Feather Rest." However, "Hane" can also mean wing, and it can be learned by a bunch of things with wings but not feathers, so I'm wondering if "Wing Rest" might be a better translation? :::And except for Mew of that list, all of the mentioned Pokémon have wings. What puzzles me tough, is that DUNSPARSE can learn it by LEVEL UP. What is with that? It doesn't even have wings... --Alex S. 22:30, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

::::Someone should hack a Pokémon to be pure flying type and use it.  Or just hack an Arceus to learn Roost.  Would the game crash or would it just have no type?!  Do we know Roost makes the Pokémon 'loose' the flying type?  Maybe it just loses the weaknesses and resistances of the type (after all we can't have it use a Flying move to check for STAB if it's taking it's turn using Roost) I know it's been a little while since anyone has said anything about this but I'm still curious.. ::::Well......I justed test it using a Smeargle with Roost and Conversion, after using Roost and Normal, Fighting and Psychic type moves damage are normal effectiveness, I just suspect it turning into a no weakness and resistant ??? typechungkingpun 14:43, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

When hacked onto a Tornelos or Sky Plate Arceus in Generation V...
...what type does the Pokémon become after Roost is used? Since the ???-type was removed, does it crash the game? What happens with a Porygon, Porygon2, Porygon-Z, Smeargle, Kecleon, or any other single-typed Pokémon that has become pure Flying via Conversion or Color Change and then used Roost? There are a lot of questions not answered in this article. Bwburke94 18:42, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
:In Generation V pure flying-type pokemon using roost become normal-type. <font color="#d0000d" face="boopee">Pikiwyn</font> <tt><font color="black">talk</font></tt> 19:02, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
When hacked onto Rotom-F in Generation V...
An extension of the above. Due to Rotom-F being a Flying-type with Levitate, its ability appears to be useless for it, and only maintained for the purpose of Skill Swap and similar effects, along with if it is imported from Generation IV. However, what happens when Roost is used by it or any other Levitating Flying-type? Bwburke94 18:53, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
:Roost has no secondary effect on pokemon with levitate. <font color="#d0000d" face="boopee">Pikiwyn</font> <tt><font color="black">talk</font></tt> 19:02, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
??? Arceus
I know Arceus can't learn this move but would this move be the reason that Arceus has a ???- type in the game data of Diamond and Pearl? If hacked it will change Arceus to a ???- type. Nickvang 19:49, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
:I think the reason was that Curse was a ???-type move at the time, due to this it was involved in the games typing data, and due to Multitype they had to program it could get STAB and so they had to create the ??? form to stop the game breaking. I'm not sure if that was the entire reason though. --Spriteit 13:48, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Type Effectiveness
Not sure if this is a glitch or not; but yesterday I was playing on random matchup(free single battles) and I encountered a Skarmory on the opposing team who first used stealth rock (I used fake out before that) and then I used ice punch(it was wearing rocky helmet) and then it used brave bird on my Pokémon(a Kangaskahn). Afterwards; before I could get my attack in, it used roost; and then I used drain punch. It registered as a neutral attack; where, to my understanding, it was supposed to be a super effective attack because roost makes the user lose its flying type and Skarmory is steel/flying type; right? I'm not sure if this is a bug or a glitch or something; but I was fairly confident I'd be getting a super effective attack in on Skarmory. Anyone know why this happened; and should this be added to the glitch section or something? Venus253 14:35, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
