Box

I propose moving Pokémon Box back to the "Generation III" section. Since it has the same kind of emulation and Pokémon storage features as in the Pokémon Stadium series, it follows the base Pokémon game style much more closely than the rest of the titles listed under "Other Games". I just posted here instead of editing the page so that I could get someone else's opinion rather than starting an edit war. -Woopert


Pokémon Box is already in the Generation III article. It's in the bottom part of the Other Generation III games category along with two minor points. It's always been there as I wrote the article. Check it out here:

Currently the General Information link in the Other Games section leads to the Generation I article, it's obviously not supposeed to lead there, but where should it lead?

Non-copyvio patches?

There is a distribution of Quartz that exists only as an .ips file, patcher, and documentation. Any person who owns Ruby wouldn't be violating copyright law to use this patch and play the resulting game. Since the knockoff is quite different, notably hilarious in many aspects, and distributed in a format that consists, to my knowledge, of only original work, is it appropriate to list it in this index? While based on the Ruby ROM, the game itself is less similar to Ruby than even Sapphire.Iliekmudkips 17:17, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

I think this actually exists. I managed to find this website which seems to have quite some details on the subject. I think it says there were a couple other games made for the Sega Pico, but I can't read that much Japanese, so I don't know for sure. What really confuses me is how and why Nintendo would let Sega use Pokémon on one of their systems... Wolf 06:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Well, the fact that the Pico as a whole is pretty much an educaional tool might be a factor. Educational-oriented consoles generally aren't seen on the same playing field as the general console fare, such as a Dreamcast, Wii, Game Gear, or DS. --Shiningpikablu252 21:24, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

This looks a little messy

Well, the Other Games section looks a bit messy, more specifically from the Mystery Dungeon / Ranger, it starts to break the window's limit, not mentioning that the Ranger section has no border at all, can someone fix it? 聖人 wat 12:39, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Pokémon Battle Revolution

Seeing as how a couple of them lack blurbs (not the new ones coming out this year but other older ones), I was wondering if someone was fluent enough in Japanese to where I could provide some image links and let them translate the blurbs. Applications?

I think we should put Pokédex 3D, Pokémon Dream Radar, and Pokédex 3D Pro under a category titled Applications above the Others section since these three things aren't really game cartridges so to speak, applications for the Nintendo 3DS. Games For Windows

Hello everyone. I was reading this article and I think the use of the Games For Windows logotype is completely wrong. Just because a program is on the Microsoft Windows platform does not mean it is a Games For Windows program.

Changes I think would make it better: 1. Pokémon Dream World ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Core_series ) should use a text stating "Web application" and not have anything to do with any specific platform due to working on every platform.

2. For Pokémon Play It! and Pokémon Play It! Version 2 ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Play_It.21_series ) a more appropriate logotype would be the logotype for Microsoft Windows 95 ( [1] ) since both Pokémon Play It! and Pokémon Play It! Version 2 are Windows 9x with support for Microsoft Windows 95.

3. Pokémon Trading Card Game Online ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Other_TCG_video_games ) should have a Windows Vista logo ( [2] ) a Mac OS X Mountain Lion logo ( [3] ) and the Ios logo ( [4] )

4. I do not know about PokéROM ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Individual_spin-off_games )so someone who knows or owns it can please help fill this in.

5. Pokémon Masters Arena ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Individual_spin-off_games ) should have both the Microsoft Windows 98 ( [5] ) logo and the Windows XP ( [6] ) logo. This is because the game supports both Windows 9x (98 and up) and at the same time Windows XP.

6. Pokémon Team Turbo ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_Team_Turbo ) should have both the Microsoft Windows 98 ( [7] ) logo and the Windows XP ( [8] ) logo. This is because the game supports both Windows 9x (98 and up) and at the same time Windows XP.

7. I have no idea about what platform Pokémon PC Master ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_PC_Master ) was released on. Judging by the date probably Windows XP but could also be something else. Someone who has info, fill in!

8. Pokémon Team Rocket Blast Off, Pokémon Poké Ball Launcher and Pokémon Seek & Find ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Perdue_Farms ) are Flash games and because of it, platform independent. Naturally these would use the Adobe Flash logo or something of the sorts ( [9] )

9. Pokémon Project Studio Red and Blue ( http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_games#Applications ) should use the same Windows 95 logo as Pokémon Play It! and Pokémon Play It! Version 2 ( [10] ) - unsigned comment from Cedric.lunneborg (talk • contribs)

I think this is a fair criticism, since Games for Windows is a specific brand. I think it would just be better to display the logo of the Operating System family it works on though, like we do for mobile games (we don't put iOS 6 or Android 5 for example).
The Pokémon Dream World was a Flash-based web app, so it might be best to handle that in a similar way to the Perdue Farms games (which can be played online as Flash games, or off of the CDs they were distributed on).
In the particular case of Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, it used to be a web app but now it's a specific download; that may actually mean its OS compatibility changed when that change was made, but I would be happy with just listing the current OSes it works with on this page, and leave any details like that to its own page. --SnorlaxMonster 16:07, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

Regional release dates?

It looks like the release dates are all given as the earliest release. It seems to me that it would be more useful to put the release dates for each region, as Wikipedia does for its articles on video games. I'm wondering what people think would be better, a table like the following (with formatting fixed up, of course--this is just barebones stuff, copied piecemeal from the article):

Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter

1. Isn't Poke Transporter technically generation V, since it directly interacts with generation V as part of the side series, but can't interact with VI?

2. Arn't they both also generation VII games as well, with Poke Transporter being I due to the Virtual Console releases?

Pokemon GO as a side series game

Shuffle, Duel and GO as Gen 6 & 7

So, Shuffle, Duel and GO are technically part of both Gen 6 and 7. Shouldn't they be listed as such here, as opposed to just Gen 6? Torpoleon (talk) 23:22, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Side series vs. Spin-off games (and Pokémon GO)

What exactly distinguishes a side series game from a spin-off? I think we should include definitions for side series and spin-off games somewhere in order to clearly delineate what distinguishes them. On a related note, Pokémon GO is listed as a spin-off game here, but is in the side series navbox. Landfish7 08:11, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

I always assumed side vs spin-off is determined by their connectivity to the main series (Colosseum, XD, GO connect to mainlines, but Mystery Dungeon and Cafe Remix don't), but i could be wrong. There's also a lot of discussions going on in the Discord about this so yeah idk. Anzasquiddles (talk) 13:29, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
