In Gold Version, I accidentally told the old man to keep my pokemon egg. I then continued grinding steps, but he never showed up with another, even after an hour of trying. It wasn't until I removed one of my pokemon from the day care and put it back in that I was able to get another egg, and pretty promptly. Can anyone confirm or deny: Does the GSC Day-Care stop producing eggs for a pokemon couple after you tell him you don't want the egg, or was I just extremely unlucky? [[User:Xelrog T. == Rename this page if Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl have a Nursery instead of Day Care ==
Require Second Pokémon
If Pokémon BDSP replace the Pokémon Day Care name with Pokémon Nursery, I think this will be a very strong signal that the name is going to be used from now on and the old Day Care name has been completly abandoned.
In BW, the Day Care Lady will refuse to take a Pokémon if doing so would leave you with only one (i.e. you only have two) with the line "Huh? Now, now. If you leave that Pokémon with me, you'll be left with just one. You will be better off if you catch some more, if I do say so myself.". However, this is not simply about how many Pokémon you have in your party, it also counts the PC, so for example they'll happily leave you with only one Pokémon in your party as long as you have at least one other in the PC.

The page title should be updated to reflect the current name of the mechanic, explicitly mentioned the feature was called Day Care prior to Gen 7.Josephvb10 (talk) 02:21, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
I have no idea if other games do something similar.--Gou (talk) 07:01, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
