== The word 'Prequel' ==
You cannot call Pokémon Black and White Versions prequels. In order for the games to be prequels, they would have had to be released after Pokémon Black and White Versions 2. I tried correcting this, but somebody decided to change it back. Could whoever did this please stop this and remember this for future use.
Also, here's the actual definition for the word.
pre·quel/ˈprēkwəl/ | |||
Noun: A story or movie containing events that precede those of an existing work.
Thank-you. Blagdenwhiteraven
==Final boss== | |||
* Black and White are the first main series games in which the region's Champion is not the final boss before the credits.
Is final boss really the appropriate word to use in this situation? I would hardly consider anyone in the Pokémon games to be considered a boss. --NOBODY (talk) 00:44, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
:I don't see how it's not; "boss" isn't the usual term the Pokemon fandom uses because we have more specific ones (Gym Leader, Elite Four, Champion, villainous team leader, etc), but it's still accurate. To quote Boss (video gaming), Boss battles are generally seen at the climax of a particular section of the game, usually at the end of a stage or level, or guarding a specific objective, and the boss enemy is generally far stronger than the opponents the player has faced up to that point.[3] Gym Leaders and the Champion fit all these criteria:
:* climax of a section of the game - Defeating Gym Leaders allows the player to move into new areas of the world either through HM field moves or by lifting roadblocks, and by and large (though not without exception), the Gym is the most climactic or final occurrence in a city. The Champion, of course, is the climax of the entire game.
:* guarding a specific objective - Badges, of course.
:* stronger than previous opponents - Gym Leaders' Pokemon, of course, tend to have higher levels than other Trainers in their Gym and in the surrounding area.
:Just because we don't generally use the term "boss" in the fandom doesn't mean these characters aren't bosses. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 07:02, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

== The title of the page should stay the same. ==
It has been suggested that the title of this article be renamed "Pokémon Black and White." I'm okay with the suggestion, but even though other territories don't use the word "version," North America does, so we should refer to them by their full North American names. Thank you. == Korean version region lock ==
* Reason: Confirmation as to whether or not the Korean versions are region-locked.
I'm 95% sure that it's not region-locked, because I do recall playing my Korean Black cart on my USA DSi unit. In fact, here is a video of me inserting my Korean cart into my US DSi:
* https://youtu.be/tgfHusCIQEw
But then again, I forget if, despite the fact that it loads, it will actually play, or if I get a error message. For example, I can load Korean Gen 6 carts into a US 3DS, but it won't play in it. What happens with a Japanese BW cart in a non-Japanese DSi?
I will therefore look into this and get back to everyone about it as soon as I can. --- Nick15 (talk) 19:11, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
** Ok, I have definitely confirmed that the Korean versions of both BW1 and BW2 are not region-locked, as they play perfectly fine in my US DSi system. So I updated the section to point that out, as well as remove the "Incomplete" box. I also made this change at BW2. -- Nick15 (talk) 18:15, 5 September 2018 (UTC) |
