Notability

Before I protect it, I think its notability should be discussed here. According to our new policy, battling isn't enough to warrant an article anymore. Weavile hasn't done anything of significance and loses in every battle its in. So what do you think? --ケンジガール 09:32, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I say remove, but since some people like to treat Paul like a main character, I'd say we can wait until Trom finishes the template for the table we'll use to put Pokémon information on the trainers' pages, and then after we'll do Paul's page, we can redirect this. --electAbuzzzz 11:24, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
I guess Mihail is one of those people. --ケンジガール 19:06, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
In my opinion this article is needed! Maybe it WILL get a bigger role in the future..who knows? And most of Paul's Pokémon haven't done anything significant accept for his starter. So most of the articles would be destroyed, if this is a criteria. --×Impoleon xy× 19:12, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
I kinda beg to differ:
Paul's Electabuzz: Was the first Pokémon seen in Paul's ownership. Also the only one of his Pokémon to evolve on screen. And it became buddy's with Pikachu
Paul's Ursaring: Played a significant role in DP006. Helped to reactivate Ash's Chimchar's Blaze. Later helped Ash's Chimchar evolve into Monferno.
Paul's Torterra: It's his starter Pokémon so of course it's notable. Also helped Ash's Grotle get used to its heavier body after evolution.
Paul's Honchkrow: Helped evolve TWO of Ash's Pokémon.
Paul's Gliscor: Ash's Gligar's first real battle opponent. Inspired it to evolve.
Paul's Magmortar: Replaced Chimchar on Paul's team and helped earn Paul the Cobble Badge.
Paul's Weavile: Um... nothing... Just lost a lot.
So yeah... --ケンジガール 20:01, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, when you put it like that, Paul's Weavile does look kind of useless, but it has been seen in more than one episode, and helped Paul to capture his Gliscor and it is part of Paul's current party.--Tomas 14:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

I say Weavile's article stays, because it has enough information to qualify. Dusknoir477 20:45, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

I say the same.Let's keep it.--Tomas 15:16, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

The reason for this policy, people, is to prevent lots of tiny, crappy articles, and instead expand a larger article, such as Paul. Bulbapedia strives for quality, after all, and hence I'd support merging with Paul. There is just enough information there to fill up the table Buzzy and I threw together. —darklordtrom 08:23, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

You mean to do like Drew's article? I think that at least some of Paul's Pokémon are inportant enough to have their'e own articles.--Tomas 15:31, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Of course, we're not saying we're gonna redirect all of Paul's Pokémon. They're more important than Drew's. But tiny crappy ones (as Trom so nicely put it), like this one, I fail to see the point of. This is exactly why I started the whole notability process. --electAbuzzzz 18:10, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I think the article should be restored to the way it was since it serves as a reference point to the moves that Weavile knows. All of the other major hitters have about the same amount of moves as Weavile and they got their own article. Does the poor Sharp Claw Pokemon really deserve just an honorable mention in Paul's article? Some people like myself like knowing what moves Paul's Pokemon know. -Firepokemontrainer

That's not reason enough to have an article. If you want, you can add the moves to Weavile's section on Paul's page (not with the template, though. Find some elegant phrasing and just add it in a sentence). Oh, and please sign your comments with ~~~~. --electAbuzzzz 17:09, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
