Insect Plate

Outside the Chateau, is there also a hidden Insect Plate? Agggron (Talk | Edits)

yes, it is hidden in the wall behind the Old Chateau on the right of it. Moldy orange 22:26, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
But does that area count as the Chateau or the Eterna Forest? --FabuVinny T-C-S 22:37, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Eterna Forest. TTEchidnaGSDS! 04:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
So theoretically, Eevee can evolve to Leafeon... right? ht14 03:00, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes. Anywhere that isn't inside the Chateau is considered the forest. R.A. Hunter Blade 03:14, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Creepy

OK i was on pearl last night and defeated rotom and then i started to walk around. second room on right, didn't see eyes(i didn't look that hard, so there could've been eyes, not sure.) and i saw a girl in the farthest right room and then she walked out. didn't see her again after i tried. and then in the dining place there was a guy who's outside-of-battle sprite look like the move deleter and then he floated into a wall and disapeared before i could move!!!!!! i was scared aven though i knew it was just a game. BECAUSE THAT'S JUST FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UkiraGrace611 13:37, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

It is a haunted mansion after all. But congratulations, I have yet to encounter the ghosts.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 03:46, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I saw both the girl AND the butler. Indeed, they are ghosts...BlueJirachiWishMaker 18:02, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I saw the girl, can't remember the Butler Takoto タコト| サソデイ = 愛 18:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

You have to check out the statue before entering the dining room. That's how you'll meet the butler.BlueJirachiWishMaker 18:21, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Nintendo should have made them semitransparent.OrigamiGuy-T-C-M 18:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I've never seen the buttler, and I've checked the statue =S. hfc2X 05:44, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Try going in and out of the room.Laxafett 20:14, 25 January 2009(UTC)

Where do you find the Antidote? In a trash can in the kitchen, of all places. Now why would it be there? Diachronos 02:42, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Actually, you dont need to check on the statue to be able to see the butler ghost. its just a calculated prob. Grhaal, 12 august 2010.

Hey, hasn't anyone ever thought that since Gengar only appears in the room with the glowing red eyes picture... that maybe its the one possessing the picture? Should that be mentioned in the trivia section?--Teller of Legends 20:04, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Rotom

Do you need the National Dex to be able to fight it? I've gone there every night and it doesn't appear. SD13 Simpsondude13>SD13 Talk 20:34, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, National Dex is required. It does say that in the article, I think... — THE TROM — 21:44, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
If it's Platinum, I think no. Joe9320 06:08, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I saw many things sayign different, so I got confused. SD13 Simpsondude13>SD13 Talk 10:51, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Actually, this raises a good question. Is the NatDex required in Pt? — THE TROM — 06:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
No, as Rotom is in the Sinnoh Dex. hfc2X 20:19, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
*facepalm*. And one needs the SDex to get the NatDex, which means one can get Rotom as soon as one defeats Gardenia. Should have known that. — THE TROM — 09:40, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

I've got the National Dex, but Rotom doesn't appear. Do you have to beat the Elite Four in order to meet it? (you know, I've obtained the National Dex before having beaten the Champion) --DarkSally(complaints department) 13:18, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

How could that happen? NDex without beating the E4 & champion? What time of the day you visited the Chateau? It would only appear at night.. Ҝəυzø8 13:24, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
You know, I've trained a lot my Pokémon, and my sister, who has beaten the Champion, has given me the Pokédex entries for some Pokémon that I could not meet yet (Octillery, Mantine and Feebas). However, I've visited the Old Chateau at night, because I knew that Rotom appears only at this time of the day. So... I think that I have to beat the Elite Four T_T (it's the same thing for Sendoff Spring and Turnback Cave: I can't reach them). --DarkSally(complaints department) 14:08, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Ahh, so its true then. I was wondering too if we really need to beat the champ.. Volkner owns Octillery in DP, you can evolve Mantyke found on water routes, and Feebas are owned by some Fisherman.. Ҝəυzø8 14:25, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but I wanted to finish my Sinnoh Dex quickly, and when I had this idea, I didn't reach Sunyshore City yet ^_^ ...
but... does any trainer before the League own a Milotic? --DarkSally(complaints department) 14:48, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Nope. --Galladeon 23:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Cynthia is the only trainer with a Milotic.--ForceFire 01:47, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Old Notebook

In Pokemon Platinum, there's a notebook in the right-hand room, saying: E30.png E31.png Anyone got a reasonable interpretation of it, and shouldn't it be pointed out on the page? Plasma 17:29, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

The most reasonable thing I can thing of is: "Something so peculier should make off with the motor", although that seems to make little sense. Maybe refers to Rotom. Missingno. Master says: The Celebi Glitch is real!(talk page) 17:44, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
I think that what it means is "Something so peculiar. I should make off with the motors." Or perhaps it says "Something so peculiar should try to make off with the motors." I don't know. Pawsrent 17:56, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
I actuaaly made a new account to write this ; Anyone think this relates to Charon abandoning the old Chateau?
""Something so peculiar(? Something happening? Side effects ?). I should make off with (?the?) motoR( Rotom )." Khai 20:47, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
I think it does, but the whole thing makes a little more sense if you read it as "Something so peculiar shouldn't make off with the motor," referring to the Rotom in his robot...perhaps it was stolen? Fidelis359 08:26, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
I think what it actually is saying is... "Something so peculiar (the strange rotom pokemon) should make off with the motors (the 5 motors it was hinting towards there being 5 additional rotom forms being introduced in the Secret Key event)." I think in the game the message is telling you that Rotom is taking and using the motors in the house appliances (fan, fridge, microwave, washing machine, and lawnmower). TM90 Substitute

Currently, TM90 (Substitute) is listed as being "In the easternmost room on the upper floor" for D/P/Pt. However, I'm in the Old Chateau in Platinum, and TM90 is NOT there, but is through the easternmost door in the upper floor's northern room. The only thing in the easternmost room of the upper floor is the notebook.

Can someone else verify this for Platinum, and check to see if this is the case for Diamond and Pearl as well? Thanks. ^_^

Forced Interaction

has anyone attempted to force interaction with the ghosts, through the use of a cheating device, or just pillaging the game data? I'm just wondering, mainly, how the game categorizes them, and if there are even mechanicsms of actions, NPCs who merely have no dialogue, or if they are just mobile objects? Template and infobox colours – change to ghost theme?

Since this building has nothing to do with Pokémon other than those of the Ghost-type, I think it would be appropriate to change the table colours to reflect the Ghost-type sub-theme, as has been done with the Layout table in the main page. However, even if consensus is in agreement with this proposal, I don't quite know how to effect such a change in this particular page, so could someone else help out here? Haxorus 10:39, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Makes sense, just like Stark Mountain and its fire theme. Plus I have been pushing for the {{Infobox location}} template to be updated on the talk page. --Wildgoosespeeder 17:58, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Done, but whilst I agree to the nature of the building being in a ghost theme, it may still get reverted by another admin. --Spriteit 01:31, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

the ghosts

In a platinum playthrough, the little girl ghost does not use a walking animation either. Did it twice to make sure. anyone confirm? Also, the eyes in the portrait disappear anytime the player is along the back wall and appear anytime the player is not, regardless of facing. TheHateHat (talk) 20:53, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
