Nintendo Power Inserts
I cant recall when exactly they did this, but for several issues of nintendo power they had what amounted to guide books for the game. I know some came out before the games did, and some after. I have no idea what month/year they were covered in but if I find anything, i'll update. Will leave the article as-is until I get something more meaningful than a vague memory.
